Question about 2003 Yamaha YZ 125

Fit a new r/regulator to my vfr 750 honda which cured my battery charging problem, but after two weeks it was flat battery again and when i checked the output it was charging at 14to15volts even on tickover instead of 12v on tickover.

89 virago 750 eats new batteries

The bike probably has a faulty charging system. Need to check regulator/rectifier for proper operation as well as the stator's output voltage on all 3 phases. They usually blow out the regulator though.

Your voltage regulator is bad. She is over-charging. From your description, when this happens the charging system is putting to much voltage/amps back into the battery. The regulator senses battery voltage and then cuts back the amount of alternator output.

I stored my honda vfr 800 for two years. When I tried to start it, it would not start. It used to work alright before storage. It is quite new. What might be wrong with it?

Have you charges the battery? Is it turning over at normal rate. Have you put fresh fuel in it. 2 year old fuel will present a problem.
Mine would die and it turned out that the regulator / rectifier was shot also it buggered the alternator so need all new bits.
Common misconception is that it's just a faulty battery but can be more serious. Get a sparky to check it out.

1999 Honda VFR 800 keeps blowing the headlight bulb

Hi, Capelcurig if your headlight is not working, intermittent, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chafed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/low beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

What fork oil do i need for my honda vfr 750?

I have a 1991 Honda 750 VFR F/M , I have changed the front fork seals, taken
the bike for a run, parked it in the garage come back after two weeks to find
a large pool of oil on the floor from one of the seals, this has happened
before, can anyone help.

hi ,this might help.i think your voltage regulator might be kaput or your generator,,13.8v is the static charge of a 12v battery,with the bike running at about 3000rpm you should be getting between 14.2 and 14.8v,the way to test your voltage regulator is to put a meter across the battery with the bike running and switch your lights on the meter should dip momentarily then return to its normal reading if it is not reading at least 14.2v with the lights on the regulator is faulty,,hope this helps
