Question about 2008 Yamaha YZF-R15

My yamaha r15 stops because it is getting discharged on running

6months back a night when i was riding my bike in rain it stopped suddenly by indicating some engine error.it didn't start again so i had to push it for starting it. next day morning it started normally without any problem and that day it was no rain. from that day onwards it used to stop in similar way when it was raining. a week back it stoped completly.i have taken my r15 to nearer yamaha showroom. they kept bike with them for a day and told me it was battery problem . so i brought a new battery and it had run for 12 km and problem reappears. the battery had discharged from 12.5v to 8v. so i put the battery for charging and after that it started and began to run without any problem till the battery gets discharged.what is the problem with my bike?

SOURCE: 2001 yamaha R6 will die out on me while riding

Hi there!

dont give up on it yet. the CDI costs much! This sounds like a wiring problem. I've had the same problem before but i checked and traced the wiring and found out that the positive lead wire is making contact with the chassis.. due to vibration and just, it must have eaten the insulator. Check on this part. Also, make sure that your carb jets and spark plugs are clean.

-hope this gives you an idea.

SOURCE: Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

SOURCE: good evening sir, I have

1998 to 2002 have problem with plug to voltage regulator/rectifier which is under seat. connectors in plug overheat and bike stops charging the battery. you will see if connectors have been hot and will need to be replaced if they have.
once replaced check bike charging with multimeter at battery, should make 13.5 - to 14.5 volts just above idle. if not will need to test stator and regulator.

I have Yamaha r15 when I going bike suddenly stop it will not start for long time .a yellow light on the meter what is the problem for that plz help me

Hi, Irfan it should be noted that the reasons your check engine light constant or flashing, will or will not start, turns over or not conditions varies from the year, make, and model and you should always refer to your owners/service manual for proper diagnostic procedures. It should also be noted that any type of prior work or event IE: adding accessories, electrical curiosity/adventures, laying bike down/crashes, rainstorms/bike washings just before EFI light issues started can be significant hints/aids into tracking down the gremlin, also carry the appropriate jumper wire to access fault codes to reduce the risk of being stranded or towed, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty Fuel Pump, fuse or system relay switch.
2. Battery starting to fail due to old age/damage, perform a load test.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Faulty switches/sensors: run/off, ignition, clutch lever, neutral, side stand, tip over, fuel, and or their connections.
5. Broken wire or worn insulation exposing wire to a ground situation especially inside wire harness at tight bends around fairing brackets, under dash panels, under fuel tanks over cylinder heads etc. Many harnesses are open on the ends that will allow water to enter and accumulate at v-bends.
6. Check for generated fault codes.
Dielectric grease and contact cleaner are your best friends for wire/cable/harness connectors, look for corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets.

Yamaha R15 JERk and off after giving yellow light in speedometer.

Hi, Anand your yellow light comes on when your Electronic Control Module generates an "ERROR" code alerting you to a problem if the issue is serious it will shut down the bike to keep it from damaging the engine. These error codes can be retrieved by a qualified professional technician to aid in his diagnosis of your issue. 95% of the time these codes are legitimate the other 5% are false codes due to corrupt data from a corroded wire connector that has broken or loose pins, or worn insulation exposing the bare wire to make intermittent contact with metal which grounds the circuit, this scenario usually comes from misrouted wire harnesses or in your case possible hidden damage from a previous accident that takes weeks or months to manifest itself into a full-fledged "GREMLIN" do you have a problem? the ECM thinks you do and is shutting down your bike, is it a 95% or a 5% problem only the Yamaha Gods know for sure, my advice is, take it to someone who knows what they are doing, and be prepared to shell out some Drachmas for repairs, then again the Gremlin may be hiding in plain sight and your bill couuuuuuuuld be small LOL, read your owners manual about error codes, for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the websites below. Hi, Lazzzydevil for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one. My r15 radiator fan is not working properly

Hello. Start your bike and let it idle for 10-15 min. Check the radiator fan, it should start running.
You cannot check if the radiator fan is working or not at random timings as the fan gets ON and OFF depending on the engine heat. (I got myself confused as my Bike's radiator fan was not alive even after a 100 KM run).
Happy riding with your R15!! Take care.

My 1yr Old Yamaha R15 doesnt Start when kept in Hot Sun

Hi, Anonymous some bikes get "Sun Stroke" after running fine in the morning then shut off and parked in the sun for a couple of hours on a hot day. You get back on the bike hit the starter button and nothing happens or the engine turns over but will not fire. Then you put the bike in the shade for 20-30 minutes and it fires up no problem.
The primary reason for this phenomenon is faulty wire connections in the Starter and/or Ignition Circuit. You may have a wire connection/component that makes just enough contact when cool to start and run the bike, but when parked and exposed to direct sunlight heat causes expansion and creates an "OPEN" in the circuit not allowing the bike to start. You move the bike into the shade for a few minutes, the temperature goes down allowing the connection to contract and make better contact and suddenly "it's a miracle" the bike starts. I know what you're thinking that Gremlin could be anywhere, and you would be right in that assumption, you can take your bike to a dealer, spend tons of "DRACHMA" only to receive validated nervous emotions the next time you park in the sun, then 1 week later it doesn't start. Start by doing a ground check:
Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary. Check all common grounds for the same suspects.
The secondary reason your bike may get "Sun Stroke" is vapor lock although this is a rare scenario it does happen.
