The plug to drain the system is on the very bottom of the crankcase, and yes the oil you have is good enough, i prefer full synthetic but that is optional.

The oil drain plug will be on the very bottom of the bike parallel to the ground. Oil won't come out till its almost all the way out then it will come out fast.

The oil should be okay, did you put the right amount of oil into the engine ? try draining it again and check how much oil you need. if the problem persist than the problem is something else. where is it leak ?

5w/30 10w/40 10w/30 all seem to be fine for this car - the castrol is good oul through and through so will almost certainly be ok But just to be on the ultra safe side... you can phone Volkswagen Parts/Dealer yourself and they will advise you as to the best oil to use depending on your cars mileage etc...
