Try a new spark plug, that would be your best bet, if that fails charge your battery and heck with a volt meter that it is 12.5V if that still does not work replace your ignition coil, they can go at any point in time :)

I came across this problem and found that on the right hand side of the bike there was a block connector that had corroded slightly when i plugged and unplugged it a few times the spark returned it was down near the tank

1994 Honda CBR 600 F(2)R will not start when engine is hot

Hi, Anonymous your bike starts great when cold but once it reaches operating temperature and the engine is shut off for a few minutes then you try to restart it and it will turn over but will not fire or it doesn't do anything, the usual suspects are:
1. When electronics get hot they build up resistance then stop working. It might be an ignition coil, stator, CDI unit etc. First, you must find out if the spark dies out. When the bike won't start, pull a plug wire off, stick a new spark plug in the end and ground the threads on bare metal while someone cranks the engine over. You should see a nice big blue spark between the spark plug gap. Incorrect spark plug gap will cause or contribute to a no start when hot issue.
2. Fuel Tuners have been known to cause this type of problem, disconnect it and see if resolves the issue.
3. Any engine management sensor could be faulty especially the ones that monitor temperature.
4. Gas cap not venting properly, improperly routed fuel lines they must always go down from the gas tank to the carburetor never in any kind of a loop this will cause a vapor lock. Clogged, bent, kinked, pinched or restricted carburetor vent lines will do the same.
5. Overhead camshaft valves adjusted too tight when cold, this will cause loss of compression when hot, except for pushrod engines they usually get looser when hot.

Cbr 400 rr wont start no spark on plugs

go to the spark plug wires, test for ohms resistance (your local dealer should have the specification for ohms resistance on spark plug wire). Next: Check coil, again test ohms resistance (dealer has specs).

If you do not own a multi-function meter, you may be able to get one for like $2-5.00 at harbor freight if one is near by. Alternatively Sears or Kmart for $20 bucks.

If you still have problem, log back in with what you've done so far and provide as much details as possible - someone will always be here to help!

Put a new battery in my 96 cbr 600 last month its been fine .. yesterday did a few wheelies n the key came out finally wen i stoped the bike died n battery was dead ... could it b a stator or rectifier ?...

chare the battery back up and get a volt meter, the battery should read 12v or a little higher, when you start the bike the voltage should rise to around 14v, if it doesnt rise it is not charging and the reg or stator needs checking

2006 hammer turns over won,t start. new plugs good spark recent new fuelpump. been stood for a few months help..

Did you use fuel stabilzer when you stored the bike? If not your fuel is probably bad. You will have to drain the old fuel and introduce fresh fuel. Use 2 ounces of sea foam to every gallon of fuel. This will help get out any junk from the old fuel. You may get a light puff of blue smoke when starting the bike while the sea foam is onboard but this is normal.

I just bought a used 2002 honda cbr 954 rr. i cleaned the spark plugs about a month ago and it started up and ran fine. but now i cant get it to run no longer than a few seconds. any ideas what the problem...

Was the bike running fine before you cleaned them? If your bike won't stay running, you might need to adjust your idle. There is a black round dial on the left side next to the stator (big round circular housing) turn it so the fuel is increased.

Kawasaki zxr400bike been stood for a while started after a couple

Backfires may indicate that a valve is sticking open, so that you are not getting compression. I am assuming that no repairs or adjustments were done which might have messed up the timing of valves or ignition.

Is there a spark at the plug? if so its likely to be fuel related... is the plug getting wet? if so its likely to be air (or spark) related

Spark plug gap

Don't change the setting on the plug. The 400's are happiest when you just plug in new ones and ride. They like NGKs the best. There are two types for the 400. One runs hotter. This choice will depend on which country you live in and what the ambient temperatures are.
