The gasket should have no effect on the battery unless the gasket is leaking i would leave it be an I would chek my connections unless there was a ground bolt that bolted on side cover you need to check main ground clean an tighten it and check connection on the hot an the celliniod

Won't extract cork

I have the same type of device and I replaced the battery pack with Nickel metal hydrate batteries off eBay, cost about $10.00. Of course I had to make up the cell pack and install and solder the battery pack in.

1988 f250how to change valve cover gaskets 351 windsor

valve cover gaskets on motors were mostly cork material and never seemed to fit properly. There were small sections that fitted into slots on the edges of the cover to hold them in place but the gasket always seemed to miss parts and leaked.. The secret was to immerse the gasket in water for about 4 hours and the cork swelled up and was more pliable and fitted correctly. Next secret is to use contact cement on the rocker cover and gasket and when touch tacky fit the gasket to the cover. place the studs in the holds to align the gasket while the glue dries and bonds. When ready, fit the covers with a coating of LOCKTITE blue gasket sealer and the gasket will act as a new one from the factory.

Is cork flooring is an environmental sensitive choice?

Cork flooring is one of the most renewable sources for flooring there is. The cork oak is harvested by hand; the bark of the cork oak grows back leaving the cork oak as healthy as ever.

Should I use cork or a rubber gasket when I put the transmission pan back on?

I think it would be a matter of choice. There's really no pressure on the gasket, no reason for it to fail.

I have a Tradesman 8400 and the body gasket is leaking. I have been unable to find a part number or supplier.

If the nailer is an older gun, could be a product sold thru Grainger. If however the gun is new, could be from china and parts are most likely not found. Ebay is a good source for information on identifying the tool to a mfg.
No problem however. I would just make the gasket out of automotive gasket material. Most newer guns have a head gasket made of oring material and do a very good job of sealing. If you have a thick paper looking gasket, use sever layers of gasket material (not cork or rubber). Cut two or three pieces of gasket material larger than needed and staple them together to make thick gasket. Remove the head and oil the surface of the body of the gun. Cut hole in the gasket material to allow for cylinder to fit thru if needed and make an imprint on paper (you can also use the old gasket if complete) just punch out the bolt holes and small vent hole and alignment bars within gun for now, dont trim the outside of the gasket. After holes are punched (I use a leather punch), install the head and test the gun. If all ok, just trim off the access gasket with shape knife without taking the head off (I use an exacto knife). Good luck

Reddy heater 60kbtu will run a few minutes and quit. Maybe 3, maybe 5, maybe 30. Photocell checks good, cleaned tank, replaced filters and cleaned nozzle, replaced plastic end cover. still makes bubbles...

You may want to replace the gasket to get a good seal to draw fuel with out air. You could try a gasket eliminator and seal this thing back up. A good auto parts store also sells gasket material where you can make your own new gasket, you need patience and a sharp knife and a punch for the holes.
