When I accelerate the engine revs up but the bike only slowly responds. Off the line my bike lacks the punch it use to have it is a touring model. What is the problem?

Not Accelerating beyond 40-50 kmph

NOT clutch issue - if it was the clutch the rpms would rev out but bike would go no faster.
Sounds like carburetor may be partially plugged up, main jet.
Or air filter needs replacing.

Dear sir when i raise the accelerator the bike engine switches off but if the accelerator is not raised then the engine is on.

i take it when u dont accelerate it sits at idle... if so when u rev the bike there may be a fuel issue, where the carby isnt getting enough fuel to rev the bike thus causing it to stall... the other option is it could be getting too much fuel and stalling... i would recommend taking it in to the shop if you dont know much about it... although if you are familiar cleaning the carby would bge a good start.. hope this helps

The engine misses on acceleration above 6K revs. New spark plugs Air filter fitted. Carbs cleaned. At low revs and speed engine is smooth. On acceleration appears to die and pick up againbut worse as...

what kind of bike is it?what style of carbs? if it has rubber diaphragms in the tops of the carbs, you might have a pinhole in one or more of them.

Did you adjust the freeplay on your clutch lever? You should havee 3-5 mm of freeplay. If so, maybe youjust need a new clutch.
