Question about 2002 Honda GL 1800 Gold Wing
Well there are many ways to lower the seat -
1. Suspension Lowering - In this you need to change the suspension of your motorcycle, you need to use a lower suspensions. But in addition to changing ground clearance, dropping your suspension also affects cornering clearance, shock compression, wheel travel, and suspension geometry—all of which usually translates to worse handling. Though it's not impossible to lower a bike and anticipate unusual handling characteristics, it's advisable to avoid suspension modification........ (There's also a good chance an accessory saddle is available for your bike which will lower your altitude and make it easier to touch the ground.)
2. You can cut down the seat, basically you remove the cover, trim back the foam with a power knife to suit and re stretch and glue down the cover. Any upholstery shop can do this for a minimal cost. The seats on modern bikes do not have a lot of padding to remove this way, you might gain an inch or so.
