Question about 2003 kawasaki ZX-12R
What it is saying is not f1. It is saying Fl >>> Fuel Injection. The injection sensors have detected a problem in the system. The problem could be anything from a dirty air filter to a fuel mapping error in the computer system. A dealer can hook up a code reader to see what the exact problem is.

The FI light is a fault indicator light and can indicate faults outside of the fuel injection. There is a self diagnosis terminal on the harness in the back under the seat by the ECU Usually yellow female single terminal, connect a wire to this and ground it for more than two seconds and watch the FI light and it will blink out a code consisting of long and short flashes ( each long equals 10, and the shorts are 1each), take this code on line, or call a dealer, or check 2-50 in the repair manual and it will explain the code.
