Question about 2000 Honda CBR 600 F(4)Y

2 Answers

I've got a honda cbr600rr 07, I've fitted LED indicator lights to the bike and resistors to slow the indicators down, however their still flashing to fast so ive read up to change the relay, I've found what i believe is the relay for the indicator lights which is behind the front fairing between the head lamps, i have perchased a new honda relay from halfords which is supposed to slow down LED lights, however it has a totally different connector. is it the wrong one? or do i have to try and wire it in as my original relay has three wires and this relay only has 2, i've looked everywhere on the internet but can't fine anything on the 07 bike only 03 - 06 and there relay seems to be under the seat and the look like there fitting a relay like the one i've bought. If you've got any ideas it would be muchly appreciated as i want to get back out on the road many thank james

The thing that controls your indicators should make a clicking sound when they are turned on, try changing your bulbs back to the stock lights, if that makes no difference replace your unit :)

A simple and cheap effective way to solve this is add an old incandesent dual filiment bulb connecting the ground common and each of the filaments tone to the left and the other to the right, this will solve your problem without adding resistors that heat and burn out. Also hide the extra light under the seat, Thst way if u ever burn a bulb they're easy to change

Indicators flashing fast

The flasher resistance value is still probably incorrect. Go back to the standard lights and if it works then the values are wrong.

Replaced Aprilia rs50 2006 indicators with LED ones + LED flasher relay though they light up but DON'T FLASH?

I am not a electronic wizz but i believe the led's will light up but do not have enough resistance to cause the internal breakers to work.
I found this.
The post that had the link said that it fixes fast blink and no blink conditions. http://www.greggscustoms.com/instruc...istor_Inst.pdf

Lt 35 flashing glow plug light

In my case, the flashing glow plug indicator is caused by me replacing the stop lights with LED bulbs. Therefore, a cause for this flashing indication could be a blown stop light lamp. The test for this condition is; while the glow plug indicator is flashing, press and release the break pedal. This should stop the indicator from flashing. Check your stoplights. Or add a load resistor to your LED lamps if you have fitted these.

Replacing stock turn signals with LED Honda FT 500

Only problem I have heard of is the speed that the led indicators flash at. May be too fast to pass MOT. This is solved by changing the flasher relay for one made for led lights or fitting resistors in the wires to indicators which sometimes are included with the led lights.

My HESD warning light came on on my 2007 honda cbr600rr, what does that mean?

HESD stands for Honda Electronic Steering Damper. The indicator light is telling you there may be a problem with the system. The procedure for testing the system is as follows (perform without the engine running):

Raise and support the front of the bike. Move the steering back and forth several times and make a mental note of the feel, this is at minimum damping.
Next:
1. Lower the side stand
2. Shift transmission into a gear other than neutral.
3. Open the throttle fully.
4. Turn the ignition switch on while maintaining steps 1-3.
The HESD icon on the LCD display should start blinking ( If not, start over ).
For the next 10 seconds, the ECM will set the HESD to maximum damping ( full-stiff ). Compare this to minimum damping. If there is no change, replace the HESD unit.

NOTE: This test will not work if the Malfunction Indicator Lamp has indicated a problem exists in the PGM-DSFI ( MIL is flashing ).

Indicators running to fast. new relay fitted but didnt solve problem

Sounds like you have installed LED turn signals in place of the original incandescent ones.

You will need to install resistors in line with each LED turn signal to slow the flashing down back to normal.
"Trackside" products makes a load equalizing resistor for use with LED turn signals.

All 4 indicators flash at the same time,

Hi Richard, Just a thought, I had a similar problem fitting Led bulbs to my Volvo and sorted it by putting the correct resistors in line.
Beware these get very warm so need safe/cool area for mounting.

LED Indicator Problems & Flasher Relay?

Modern Ducatis (and cars) don't have a conventional flasher. The blink rate is controlled by the dash cpu. The blink rate change is used to indicate that a bulb is out (by sensing low resistance). Using a resistor will fool the cpu into blinking correctly.
