The oil pan for the engine is on the bottom of the transmission. There are two drain plugs under the bike in the oil pan. The drain nearest the center of the pan is the transmission drain. The one closest to the left front corner of the pan is the engine oil drain.

Good Luck

Twhere is oil drainplug located

The oil pan is on the bottom of the transmission. There are two plugs in the oil pan, one for engine oil and one for transmission drain. The one closest to the left front corner is the engine oil. Loosen the drain and allow just a little of the oil to drain out and check it. It should be dark colored and smell like engine oil rather than transmission oil. The transmission oil drain is nearer the center of the transmission.

Oil change procedure and oil type. steps in

the oil drain is underneath the transmission. There are two drain plugs. The engine oil drain is the plug closest to the left front of the oil pan. Remove the plug and drain the oil, replace the plug. Remove and discard the old oil filter replacing it with a new filter. Pour three quarts of oil into the oil pan at the front of the transmission. Check the oil level and make sure it comes up to the "OIL COLD" mark. Add as necessary to get the oil to this point. Your bike came with H-D brand Syn3 oil. This is a fully synthetic oil that carries an API rating of CG4 for use in diesel engines and the viscosity is 20W50.
