Question about Yamaha V-Max Motorcycles
Yamaha dealers have a micro fiche that they can use to look up your year and model. First check that your engine and frame numbers match. If they do not , some one has changed the motor. A typical early Yamaha # is 3J1-02536049. In this case the "3J1-02" is what identifies the year and model. Have this ready when you call the dealer or find an ID fiche on line to find out what you have. on Newer models the VIN may begin with "j" But the same 5 digit code is mixed into the first part of the VIN number.Example JHA01"3J1-02"536049
