Question about 2006 Harley Davidson FXDBI Street Bob
2006street bob. Does this model come with a maxi fuse?
Well, this bike is a bit "too new" for me but from my experiences with Harley Davidson motorcycles, they have a main breaker on most of them. A circuit breaker is a metal device that's about a half inch tall and a half inch wide by about an inch long. What it does is protect the main wiring harness. When the current draw exceeds the rating of the circuit breaker, it will heat a bi-metal strip inside the device and it will "break" the circuit. But, unlike a fuse, when it cools off, it will remake the circuit. If the over current condition still exist, it will again break the circuit. I will continue this until the condition is remedied. Unlike a fuse, you get a second chance with a circuit breaker. Once a fuse blows, it's blown and there you are unless you have a replacement. All the diagrams that I have show main circuit breakers. However, Harley may have gone to a Maxi-fuse. That would be a mistake in my opinion.
