Question about 1998 kawasaki EL 250 Eliminator V

1 Answer

Kawasaki el250 1998 won't idle

Will not start or run without full choke. This can be closed off when driving but the bike will then cut out if brought to a halt, or if the clutch is employed.. The bike belongs to a mate who I am teaching, it has been laid up for a while but he has serviced it and given it fresh fuel. I gave it a good drive tonight but it has not solved the problem

My honda cb750f will not run without the choke being out

Vacuum leak.

Check all mating surfaces, any place where a vacuum line attaches, with a short spray of carb cleaner while running, when you find the leak, it will smooth out and speed up on it's own. And if EGR equipped- make sure the EGR is closing fully when cold and when hot at idle.

Everyday when i leave my gilera runner vx i have to let it warm up as if i try drive straight away it bogs and cuts out what is the problem?

The choke maybe cutiing out too soon or it is the air temperature that is cool.
Let it warm up for a few minutes before riding off.

Kawasaki Ninja 250 running problem

This could be due to timing screw being incorrectly set
Locate gold timing screw on the carbrettta turn it clockwise only slightly till bike idles without choke on, Then when choke it on it should idle a touch higher.

Choke

The choke is closed (pushed away from you) to start the bike. When it has warmed up the lever can be pulled back toward you opening the choke back up.

Cbr 125 choke problem

It sounds like the choke line may not have been routed correctly when the new one was installed. Remove the gas tank and check to see that the line is not being stretched anywhere along the way AND that the gas tank when re-installed is not stretching the line. The line may have been kinked when installed. Look at the mechanical movement of the choke at the carb. Does it operate freely? Remove the air filter and look inside the center of the carb, (you may need to use a small mirror for this), does it look like the choke is opening and closing properly when the choke is moved on and off?
