Um, number 5 coil pack ok? if no separate coil pack. meaning 1 coil sparks all cylinders, then replace distributor cap and rotor. if after new distributor cap and rotor replacement still no #5 spark, replace distributor.

Use injector node light to check for voltage at harness plug... If there's spark at the wire and fuel pressure, then must be clogged and or partial clogged injector... dose the engine run smooth with miss? Did you use a new injector on 5 ?

SOURCE: wont start has fuel and has spark

RC ralston
Your problem is a leak in the cpi pletium most likely the pressure line has a leak
had same problem with mine $45.00 PRESSURE LINE KIT AND $15.00 GASKET FOR PLETIUM and 2 hours labor problem sovled.
You can remove vortec cover and remove air regulator to look inside pletium. I had gas vapor on driver side . that is where fuel lines are. fuel regulator is on passenger side. turn key on and look in hole and see where fuel is spraying. taking pletium off you can again turn key on and make sure where fuel is coming from.

SOURCE: My 2000 Chevrolet S10 ZR2,

I have done a full engine replacement on these, a zr2 to be exact. I have found that a p0300 (multiple misfire) usually points the the Piece of **** injection spider, then I had a p0301 as well after replacing that with the multiport unit upgrade and found that the spark plug electrode folded over shorting to the center conductor.

I have a 98 Honda CRV the misfire keeps coming back my mechanic is stumped HELP!

Sounds more like you have a parts changer, not a mechanic. What do you mean by keeps coming back? Does it go away? or is it always present? Has he checked the signal from the ECU to the injectors?

Cyl #1 misfire chk engine light

Two additional possibilities:
  • Fuel contamination (worth siphoning and replacing ALL of the fuel to eliminate the possibility, especially if you have been using ethanol blend fuel);
  • Bad spark plug wire (despite proper static resistance). Just replace ALL of the spark plug wires.

P305 code we have changed the spark plugs and wires we have replaced the fuel filter and had diagnostics done on the car and the mechanic says there is nothing wrong with the cyclinders

This is what all should be checked:
P0305 indicates the PCM has detected misfires on cylinder number five.
Here are six common problems that may cause OBD trouble code P0305:
  1. Fouled, cracked, worn or otherwise misfiring spark plug (Replaced)
  2. Bad ignition wire - burnt, cracked, carbon tracked wire or plug boot (Replaced)
  3. Defective ignition components - ignition module, ignition coil, distributor cap, etc..
  4. Vacuum leaks
  5. Clogged or otherwise defective fuel injector
  6. Internal mechanical engine fault, ie., low cylinder compression, bad valve, collapsed lifter, etc..
The aforementioned list covers the most common causes of P0305 in the order we feel is most likely to occur based on our past experiences. Certainly, each situation is different and there are other possible causes for cylinder misfires. Here are other causes we've seen (in no particular order).
  • Low fuel pressure
  • Leaking fuel pressure regulator
  • Poor fuel quality - water in gas tank
  • Uneven EGR flow caused by carbon build-up on engine with multiple EGR ports
  • loose or corroded fuel injector wiring
There seems to be a few things that have yet to be checked by your mechanic.
I know it is frustrating when the OBDII codes don't point you directly to the problem. To be hones this is something that I can not solve from here. However I hope that with the above information you can get your misfire detected code to go away after the real problem is discovered.

I am getting error code P0203 on my 2000 Hyundai Sonata, V6. This indicates #3 Fuel injector open circuit. Have replaced fuel injector and continuity of wiring is strong. I am stumped as I continue to get...

Ok.... let's get this clear -- you have 'VERIFIED' no problem with the wiring between the injector connector pins and the ECM?? and you have good pin tension at the injector? and good pin tension at the ECM? and good continuity between the injector & the injector fuse? If in fact this is SO, you have a bad ECM (Engine Control Module). 303f9ab.jpg

99 5.2 durango :pulled codes for multipe missfire cylinder #5-7

Aloha We have just replaced all of what you have replaced, plus water pump, fuel pump, pcv valve and 02 sensor. Took it to mechanic today we had misfire on 1,2,6,7. Mechanic said that the 99 dodge is known for bad computers, he checked ours and works great turns out that it was the coil. Ours was jumping 1/4 inch and had a orange/yellow spark. it is supposed to have a 1 inch spark and be blue. This has solved our problems after 527 dollars later.
Check the coil!
