I am assuming you're talking about the rear sprocket mounting bolts on the rear wheel. Laced (spoked) wheel - 45-55 foot pounds. Cast wheel, 55-65 foot pounds.

Fix belt on 1200 sportster 0

I assume you want to know how to replace a final drive belt on a Sporty. First off, be glad you ain't working on a Big Twin. Sportster's are much easier than Big Twins to replace the belt on.

First, get the bike off the ground where you can remove the rear wheel. Then, remove the rear shock on the right side. Remove the bolts from the rear master cylinder and the large nut that holds the right foot peg on. Remove the front pulley cover.

Take the new belt and install it with the right leg of the swing arm through the belt. You may can work the belt over the front drive pulley. If not, use an air wrench to remove the pulley and install the belt. Retorque the pulley to 110-120 foot pounds. Remember the threads on this nut are left handed.

Reinstall the rear wheel and shock absorber. Adjust the belt to the proper tension. Then replace the front pulley cover and rear master cylinder.

Check the rear brakes for proper operation.

Good Luck
Steve

Change water pump on 1999 Century Buick

GM Century/Lumina/Grand Prix/Intrigue 1997-2000 Water Pump - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

3.1L and 3.4L (VIN E) Engines
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the drive belt guard.
  4. Loosen the water pump pulley bolts before removing the drive belt. This should help keep the pulley from turning as the bolts are loosened.
  5. Remove the drive belt. Please see .
  6. Remove the water pump pulley bolts and remove the pulley.
  7. Remove the water pump bolts and separate the pump from the engine front cover.

To install:

  1. Clean all parts well. Use care when scraping gasket material from the front cover and the pump. Do not gouge aluminum parts. Clean the bolt threads well. The torque specification is low and if the bolt threads are dirty, an accurate torque is not possible and leaks are likely to develop.
  2. Using a new gasket, install the water pump to the front cover. Install the cleaned and lightly lubricated water pump bolts. Torque to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  3. Install the water pump pulley and bolts and torque to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
  4. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of the removal process. When refilling the cooling system, use the proper mix of DEX-COOL® and water. Check for leaks.

3.4L (VIN X) Engine
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Partially drain the cooling system into a suitable container.
  3. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir.
  4. Remove the drive belt. Please see .
  5. Remove the pulley bolts and separate the pulley from the water pump.
  6. Remove the water pump bolts and remove the pump from the engine.

  5. Install the remaining components in the reverse order of the removal process. When refilling the cooling system, use the proper mix of DEX-COOL® and water. Check for leaks.

What are the torque specifications for the heads on sporster

You didn't say what year model. Sometimes the heading at the top of these postings are not correct.

For an Evo Sportster, the head bolts must be torqued in a particular sequence. The head bolts are labeled #1, 2, 3, & 4 in the drawings, not literally. The front head bolts are numbered differently from the rear as well.

You torque the bolts in three steps. The first step, you torque the bolts to 7-9 foot pounds. Then you torque them to 12-14 foot pounds. And finally, you mark each bolt and pull it down an additional 1/4 turn. You must torque the bolts in the following sequence.

On the front head, the #1 bolt is the front bolt on the left side of the cylinder head, then the #2 bolt is the left rear bolt, #3 bolt is the right front, and #4 bolt is the right rear as viewed from the top of the head.

On the rear head, the #1 bolt is the bolt at the left rear, #2 bolt is the bolt at left front, #3 bolt is the bolt at right rear, and #4 bolt is the bolt at right front as viewed from the top.

Do not forget to put the O-rings on the dowels when you put the head gasket on and oil the threads of the studs. Make sure you put a new cylinder base gasket on the bottom of each cylinder as well. Once the torque has been taken off the cylinders, the base gaskets will leak unless they are replaced.

On an Ironhead, the head torque is 60-70 foot pounds tightened in a criss-crossed pattern.
