Did you also check the system fuses? The fuse box is located behind the left side crankcase cover above the coolant reservior.

The 15 amp Signal fuse protects the coolant temperature light, the turn signal indicator light, the neutral indicator light, the oil pressure light, horn, brake/taillight, postition light and turn signal light. Basically, if this fuse is blown, your cluster will be inop.

Please let me know if this is helpful.

Mine's have that problem too. I want to know if this fuse controls something in temperature because I ran my bike for 15 minutes and it started like evaporating the coolant (I think for the express coffee machine sound) and it drained some coolant. thank you

    Ricardo:
If your bike is overheating, the thermostat may be bad. Firstly, DO ALL WORK ON A COLD BIKE!!! Secondly, a motorcycle jack or similar device will make your job a lot easier. You will need to remove the lsft side crankcase cover. You will see the coolant recovery tank and the system fuse bank just aft of that. Under the left side of the bike, follow the low side hose off the radiator until it connects to a hemispherical housing. Remove the housing and you will find the thermostat. Remove the thermostat, being careful to take note of how everything was oriented. Replace the housing and run the bike. If it does not boil over without the thermostat in place, you will know that the thermostat was bad and you can get a new one and replace it.

If it still boils over without the thermostat in place, you probably have a more serious problem; i.e. water pump. I will not get into that issue at this point.

Suzuki vl 800 speedo dont work.

Have you had your front wheel off at any time?

What usually happens is the magnetic speed sensor at the front wheel was not lined up properly when the wheel was replace and it broke. A very common occurrence.

2003 Suzuki Volusia speedometer (and odometer) quit working.

They are not cable driven. They are electric. Check your fuses, more than likely you have blown a fuse. Do not check them just by looking at them. You need to use either a test light or a multimeter to test them. Fuses can look fine and still have an open circuit. If you trust your eyes, you can be wasting a lot of time.
