Intek7.0 OHV will start when primed but will not stay running

Sounds like an air filter, choke or carburetor problem. rebuild kits are available for most small-engine carbs, but first try replacing the air filter and cleaning the carburetor and choke with spray carb cleaner. Instructions are available at:

Signs a fuel pump is failing

Ford fuel pymps are notorious for the check valve in the fuel pump assembly to fail. The check valve keeps the fuel lines and fuel rail full of pressurized fuel. Borrow a fuel, pressure gauge. The pressure should stay up when you shut the, engine down. If it drops to 0 right away, replace the pump module

    Instructions
    1. Street Motorcycles
      • 1 Mount your Ninja or Eliminator motorcycle and lift it off of the kickstand. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
      • 2 Reach down to the base of the fuel tank with your left hand and turn the fuel valve, or petcock, to the "ON" position. This will place the fuel valve lever in the 6 o'clock position.
      • 3 Place the engine kill switch on the right handlebar into the "RUN" position.
      • 4 Pull in the clutch lever and depress the starter button on the right handlebar to start the motor.

Wont idle or start without priming tbi

first check fuel pressure with a mechanical fuel gauge that attaches to fuel line schrader valve. around T.B.I. if no pressure with key on check fuel pump relay for correct operation, and also the oil pressure switch has the fuel circuit to it so possible oil pressure switch also. fuel pump has a check valve to keep fuel from going back to tank, so when u turn key on fuel pressure should go up within 1-2 seconds on gauge. if fuel pressure goes down quickly, possible bad fuel check valve, change fuel pump and fuel pump check valve (located right above fuel pump inside tank)

Where is the reset button for the emergency shut off valve for the gas line

RESETTING THE FUEL PUMP SHUT-OFF SWITCH
After a collision, if the engine cranks but does not start, the fuel pump shut-off switch may have been activated. The shut-off switch is a device intended to stop the electric fuel pump when your vehicle has been involved in a substantial jolt.

If your vehicle is a sedan, the fuel pump shut-off switch is located on the right side of the trunk behind the trunk liner.

If your vehicle is a wagon, the fuel pump shut-off switch is located behind the service panel on the right side of the cargo area.

Use the following procedure to reset the fuel pump shut-off switch.
    1. Turn the ignition to the OFF position.
    2. Check the fuel system for leaks.
    3. If no fuel leak is apparent, reset the fuel pump shut-off switch by pushing in on the reset button.
    4. Turn the ignition to the ON position. Pause for a few seconds and return the key to the OFF position.
    5. Make a further check for leaks in the fuel system

Does my ford motorhome have a gas shutoff switch 1991 ford sprinter v-8 7.5 liter

Most pickup based motorhomes have 2 fuel tanks, you may have a tank selector valve that is electric or vacuum operated. Check underneath and follow the fuel lines from the tank to the front of the engine, somewhere in between you may find that the fuel hose goes to a valve that is used to switch between the 2 tanks ie: main fuel tank and auxillary fuel tank.

The switch that you refer to could be a fuel shutoff valve, or it could be an engine cutoff switch.

If a fuel shutoff valve (hoses on either side), putting the handle of the switch parallel with the hoses turns the valve on and fuel flows. Putting the handle perpendicular with the hose turns the valve off.

If and engine cut off switch, pull the lead off the spark plug, and hold near the frame. Pull rope / press start. If you see a spark, then the cut off switch is in position to run. If not, then move switch to other side and look for spark. Yah, you might pull a few times, but I doubt if it will flood. If you are really worried about flooding, then pull the spark plug while troubleshooting. No Spark plug = no vacuum = no fuel drawn through carburetor.

My f350 1997 will not run on the rear tank . how do i go about finding what the problem is?

well, first, to find out if its the in tank fuel pump or the tank selector valve, the cheapest and probable easiest thing to do is find the selector valve under the truck and switch the incoming fuel lines. front tank to rear tank inlet, and vice versa. If the truck still doesnt run, you either have an electrical delivery problem to the in tank fuel pump or a bad fuel pump. If after switching the lines, it does run, then you need a new selector valve
