Question about 1991 Honda GL 1500 Aspencade Gold Wing

1991 Honda GL 1500 Aspencade Gold Wing headlight not working

The headlight stopped working on my 1991 Honda Goldwing. It has two bulbs one when on low beam and a second bulb when on high beam. Neither bulb is working at this time could they both have failed at the same time? Not sure how to troubleshoot if it is not the bulb. @

Hi, Anonymous if your headlight is not working, intermittent, only one beam works, keeps burning out, blinking, dim or surges from bright to dim to bright the first thing you need to check is the headlight bulb for damaged filaments then check your light circuit fuse, then check your head light bulb socket ground wire for a clean tight connection, that being said the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ground or power supply wire to headlight bulb socket.
2. Worn down solder contacts or loose fit of the bulb base in the socket due to vibration.
3. Worn, chafed, or broken wires in the light circuit.
4. Corroded, broken, or loose pins/sockets in wire connectors.
5. Faulty hi/low beam switch.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Fuse is good but no continuity on both sides.
8. Faulty headlight relay.
9. Faulty wiring between battery positive and headlight bulb socket.
10. Weak charging alternator/generator/lighting coil
11. Faulty voltage regulator/rectifier ground or overcharging.

Most head light buckets have a couple screws on both side and they need to be removed before you can pull the headlight ring and bulb.

SOURCE: how do you change the headlight bulbs on a 2007

On the older Goldwing you need to take the chrome panel off the front that is just below the windshield to be able to reach in and pull the socket and bulb. I have worked on many GoldWings bout havent got into any newer one. Also if toy get the haynes manuel for repair you won't regret it. Its a big help.

That sounds right, Check the plugs on the bulbs to see for sure. The passenger side one should have three prongs and the other should only have two. Good luck

How fix 2009 Honda Fit lowbeam headlights that both stopped working at same time?

Agree that both shouldn't fail together.
I suggest change one anyway, never hurts to carry a spare.

Both high beams do not work, but low beams do.

Need new lightbulbs. Lowbeam will still work evan after highbeam elament is burnedout in bulb. If separate bulbs are used for high and low beam, then change high beam bulbs only. If does not fix then check fuse or wires and make sure plug to bulb is in correct position. But probably just need new bulbs.

My low beams don't work but my highbeams do?

replace the bulb, highbeam and lowbeam use different filaments (on the same bulb) and lowbeam get used much more hence blow first 99% of the time leaving only a working set of highbeams

My left headlight highbeam light works and the lowbeam don't why

the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.

No headlamps on 97 Mountaineer.

Buy 1 bulb and insert in each socket one at a time. If the low beam does not work on either side you know it is not because of the bulb. Then you will have 1 extra bulb for emergencies. Ask at autoparts about a headlight relay for lowbeam. When you wrote that highbeams work on pullback you did not say if they stay on high. You have "Flash to Pass" for highbeam which can be a different circuit. The automatic headlight switch is yet another set of contacts to go bad. You should set "auto" to off so you are not fighting this feature when testing. Good Luck
