I believe it is under the cover on the left side of the engine toward the rear.

Need a diagram of oil change on a 2005 Chevy Cavalier

You probably have the 2.2L ecotec engine. The oil filter is what they call a canister filter. It is located just below the fill cap under a cap/housing with a 36mm head. The o-ring on the housing/cap should be replaced with the filter. The drain plug is on the bottom of the engine on the oil pan and can be loosened with a wrench (either 13mm or 15mm depending on which drain plug was installed at the factory)

BEST TO LET DEALERSHIP CHANGE ENGINE OIL.YOU NEED A DEALERSHIP OIL FILTER.YOUR OIL FILTER INSIDE A HOUSING ON FRONT SIDE OF THE ENGINE. CHANGING YOUR OWN OIL NOT HARD.YOU NEED 9 QUARTS OF OIL LOOK INSIDE GLOVECOMPARTMENT FOR OWNERS MANUAL TO SEE WHAT TYPE OF ENGINE OIL YOU NEED TO USE AND HOW MANY QUARTS.IF YOU DONT CHECK READ MANUAL TO SEE WHAT OIL TYPE AND QUARTS YOU NEED. IF YOU BLOW OR DAMAGE THE ENGINE WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THE ENGINE.FIRST OF ALL TO CHANGE ENGINE OIL YOU CRANK VECHICLE UP LET IDLE FEW MINUTES TO THIN OUT OIL THEN YOU TURN OFF ENGINE. YOU NEED TO RAISE VECHICLE USING THE FACTORY JACK.USE JACK STANDS. LOOK IN OWNERS FOR CAR JACK LIFTING LOCATIONS TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING ROCKER PANELS. AND PLACE A DRAIN PAN UNDER THE OIL PAN. UNDER THE VECHICLE.YOU NEED A WRENCH TO REMOVE OIL PAN DRAIN PLUG.WHEN ALL THE OLD OIL DRAIN OUT IN THE DRAIN PAN.SCREW BACK IN THE DRAIN PLUG TIGHTEN IT DONT OVER TIGHTEN STRIP THREADS.THEN YOU NEED SOCKET TYPE OIL WRENCH YOU USE WITH A 3/8 RATCHET WRENCH REMOVE OIL FILTER HOUSING.PLACE RAGS AROUND THE OIL FILTER HOUSING TO CATCH OIL SPILL. YOU WILL NEED TO GO TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE OIL FILTER AND FILTER HOUSING O RINGS. ONCE YOU GET NEW OIL FILTER AND O - RINGS INSTALL THEM IN THE OIL FILTER HOUSING.LOCATED OIL FILLER CAP ON VALVE COVER UNDER THE HOOD.REMOVE OIL FILLER CAP.POUR OIL IN ENGINE USING A FUNNEL.ENGINE HOLDS ABOUT 8.5 TO 9.0 QUARTS OIL. How do you change the oil on a 2006 chevy colorado

This is for the 5 cylinder 3.5 liter engine in the Colorado

1. The drain plug is in the middle of the oil pan on the drivers side.
Use a 15 mm socket or box end wrench to remove the plug. Drain
oil.
2. The oil filter is at the bottom front corner of the engine on the passenger side. Remove the filter. Try not to tip the filter when you
remove it so you don't get oil on other parts of the truck.
3. Rub a small of oil on the gasket of the new filter. Spin on the new filter, 3/4 to 1 turn past when the gasket starts to seat. Hand tighten
only.
4. Reinstall the drain plug. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN OR YOU COULD
STRIP THE THREADS.
5. Add 6 quarts of oil to the oil filler tube located on top of the engine
in the front and middle of the engine compartment. It shows the location
in the owners manual. Install the filler cap.
6. Start the engine and let it run a few minutes to fill the filter with oil.
Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain down to
the bottom of the engine. Remove the dip stick and check oil level.
Checking oil level is in the owners manual.

SAE 5W-20 WHAT IS THIS OIL FOR WHAT HAPPENDS IF ITS EMPTY?

It sounds like you are looking at what is on the engine oil fill cap. If that's so, running it empty will absolutely cause major damage to your engine. Locate the dip stick and check the oil level in the engine and add SAE 5w-20 Oil as needed.CAUTION--- Be careful not to overfill.

Where is the oil filter located on my 2010 V6 Camry

Not to be mean... But if you can't locate the oil filter cartrige housing, which is located beside the engine, toward the top side of the engine bay, with the round cap that has a oil can stamped on it... Maybe you should have a certified Toyota mechanic service your car. Not all cars have a visible "Spin on" traditional oil filter. Newer Toyotas (and many other new cars) have oil filtering cartriges. They are in filter housings and can be accessed via a spin on cap. (this is not the oil fill cap typically found on the valve cover. Do not fill the engine oil through the oil filter housing.) Removing these can make a large mess, requires the replacement of at LEAST one critical o-ring, and should be done AFTER the oil has been drained. Good luck

I was hoping to know how to chage the oil on my xt 600

Oil change (no filter)
Unscrew the 17mm head bolt underneath on the kick stand's side and the 13mm head bolt under the exhaust pipes (facing forward).
After draining put back on the bolts.
Torque values: 13mm bolt---12Nm
17mm bolt---30Nm
Then pour from the upper cap on the frame 2lit of the appropriate motor oil, close the cap and start the engine and leave it idle for 5 minutes. Then switch of the engine and add 800ml more oil and you are done.
Total oil capacity (without oil filter change) 2.8lit
with oil filter change 2.9lit but you need to bleed the system from the small bolt on the filter's cap after adding the first 2lit.

Oil drain plug location

It's located in the bottom of the oil pan of the engine under the car. If your changing your own oil, you'll want to change the filter at the same time you drain the oil. It should take about 4.5 to 5 quarts of oil to fill it through the cap on the valve cover on the top of the engine. You'll need I believe a 13mm wrench or socket for the plug and a filter wrench.
