It seems there is too much of fuel going into the non firing cylinder thus the blackish spark plug, recheck the float level to that carburater and also check the valve clearance.

Xs750 what is the firing order

There is no firing order. Your bike has a coil that fires on both the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke (also called a wasted spark). Therefore either plug wire can go on either cylinder and the bike should run the same.On four cylinder bikes this meant that you could run four plugs using only two coils and two sets of points instead of four coils and four points. If the bike is running poorly try new spark plugs and new spark plug caps first(start with the cheap stuff). Next check the actual coil and pulse pick up or points. You may have to replace the coil only because the wires are cracked shorting.

1979 cx 500 notfireing on left spark even though there is spark a

You will need to do a compression test, check valve clearances. Check plug cap carefully for a crack and
occasionally a spark plug can fail under engine compression conditions, even when it looks ok testing it, you didnt mention if you fitted new plugs

I put a new stator on it when it stopped firing and i am still not getting no fire

Try unplugging the kill button and retesting for spark. Also, make sure you are starting with a brand new spark plug. Even a plug that looks good may be bad. A plug is the least expensive electrical component on your bike, don't chance it with a used plug.

95 sportster wont start. Everything was running fine until now.

do a basic test .try starting the bike, then take out a spark plug. is it wet or dry? if its dry, no gas getting into the combustion chamber. if its wet, place the thread of the pluged in spark plug against any engine metal, crank the engine and look for a good blue spark. no spark or an orange spark means ignition problem.

Yamaha dt 175, voltage question. When idling, my DT measures 7 volts across the battery terminals. When revved it jumps up to over 13 volts. This is a six volt bike. I know the battery is completely shot....

You need new regulator and new battery. The battery works as a filter as well.If it is in bad condition it does not filter anything and in high rpm the current is very high.

Will not start turns over ok but will not fire up

during the winter you can get build up on the tip of your spark plug that will prevent the engine from firing. remove the spark plug and soak it in gas for ten minutes or so. Dry it ogg with a clean towel reinstall it and it should start right up.
