If you are certain you have no shorts,I would check your battery, then voltage regulator and finally the alternator output.

2010 subaru forester engine cuts out

consider this
when at the stop lights , you will have your foot on the brake as it will still be in drive or in gear and you don't want the car to move
a simple test is to apply the hand brake to stop the car and don't touch the foot brake
if it idles ok but cuts out when you apply the foot brake , replace the brake booster as it has a vacuum leak that is causing the problem
you can do this test in the garage by starting in neutral and allowing the engine to idle , then apply the foot brake
iof it dies it is the booster

When applying the brakes on my vespa px the lights go out and the rear brake light doesn't work

That would indicate that you have a short to ground in the circuit, so that when you apply the brakes, you ground the system and the lights cut off. Check all of the wiring carefully, especially at the brake lever and make sure that when you move the lever, no wires are caught or moving.

2004 ford fiesta zetec 1.4 14v diesel...cutting out!

engine cutting out is a sensor probably the timing sensor. needs replacing. as for braking would think you have a leak in the air line. even with the engine not funning you should be able to apply the brakes upto 3 times.. think this model is not fitted with abs like my sisters. when engine is running rev upto 3000 rev's if it starts to judder. also listen for hissing sound, if you find one repair it. most problems are down to a leaking air line.

I have a tomos lx 2005 and where the exhaust goes into the engine block the screw broke off and the exhaust fell off and i can't get the screws out of the engine block. what should i do

you will need to drill out the screws. first apply liquid wrench or similar lubricant. purchase an "easy out" or broken screw extractor. drill a hole of proper size into the broken screw. Use the extractor to remove the remains of the screw. Buy the best drill bit and be sure to use the proper size for the extractor. You may need to apply heat to the remains of the screw to loosen it up.

Engine light on, when I apply the brake lights go dim and act as if the car wants to cut off. also pulls funny. I need to know what could be wrong. the mechanic says it could be a computer problem.

Did your mechanic tell you what code triggered the check engine light on,It sounds like your alternator is not charging enough,Then you apply the brake lights which take more power away from the engine.

Tomos A35 start protocal

Okay, he it goes >
  • Start the bike with the lights off. The lights rob electricity from the starting system.
  • Kill switch off side stand up and gas valve on
  • Bike should be in neutral If the engine is cold, use the choke when starting. Twist the throttle about 1/8 of a turn while kicking the starter. Turn the choke off shortly after the engine starts and certainly before driving away.
  • Go to a Tomos dealer or any dealer, Yamaha, Honda, etc., and ask them to show you the general owner maintenance needed for your bike or any similar bike.
  • LEARN TO STOP. Sure, you can ride a bicycle and you have already ridden your Tomos, but you have not practiced for an accident. STOP! ! ! A car just pulled out in front of you! You do not have the time to think, " Now where are the brakes on this motorcycle? " Stopping needs to be a reflex. Go to an empty parking lot and practice emergency stops. Pretend a car or a child is suddenly in your path. STOP! Repeat this at faster and faster speeds for about one hour. Now when you need to stop you will do it automatically without even thinking... I just saved your life.

82 harley sportster brake light

try starting with the bulb. brake light bulbs are dual fillament, meaning you have 2 bulbs in one basicly. if your brake side has blown then the tail light could still work. Or try checking the brake light switches, one on front brake and one on rear brake pedal. to test switches disconect wires and join them together with small bit of wire or paper clip. this will make the light come on meaning you have a bum switch.
if you have only been using the rear brake, that has an adjustable switch, may need to mess with it

Things seem to short out when brakes are applied es300 1993

It sounds like you may have a bad alternator, when your jumpers are hooked up, it has proper juice to run the accessories, but when you disconnect the jumpers the car is running on what little juice the battery has. The engine moving around, yes it very well may be the mounts, but that would not cause it to die like it is. When you step on your brake petal, it iluminates the brake lights, taking more juice from the battery. If you remove the alternator and bring it to any advance auto or autozone, they can test it for you for free, to tell if it needs replacing or not. Also check the fusable link located in the fuse compartment under the hood, and make sure that's good.
Hope this helps!
