It wont always destroy something.
What can happen, is the pickup battery can accept a lot more amps than the bikes charge system can produce.
So when the bike starts and you give it a big rev, it will try and produce maximum current which can damage the battery or charge system regulator etc

Push\roll start can be safer, as it then only tries to charge the bike battery, which it is designed for.

Gah! The battery has been terrible for me lately. I can barely get through 16 HOURS without it TURNING OFF!!!

For one, the performance of a battery gets worse after about a year. Another thing that causes problems for me is that when I'm in a low-phone-signal area, my unit uses a lot more battery power. I'm told it's from the unit working, ... constantly searching for a cell signal..

Car will not start

this doesn't sound good at all. if you couldn't jump start it within a few minutes, you should have stopped right there. maybe you were jumpping the car wrong, from doing so, you may have fried the computer, that rounds your entire engine. try installing a new battery, if any codes were stored in the computer, clear them out. some times just removing the battery cables for a few minutes will do this . sometimes not. try to start the engine. donot jump start, see if will start on its own. if not, seek professional help, keep blaming goodyear until you get results !!!!!!

How old and what quality is your battery? If you have the original or an aftermarket battery in it, make sure it's within the rated life before you start messing with other things.
