My clock display is faded, you can't see it from distance, but it works. Ovens work but you cannot see the temperature display even w/a flashlight shining on the area. You have to guess at the temperature, knowing the default is 350 and scroll accordingly. Tech said it was clock needing replacement and would be 177 part/112 labor, so $300. ONLY 30 day guarantee on part!!! Is this the only way and does this sound like correct Diagnosis?
The e o c ( the clock) is at fault . and the diag is correct . most parts today only cary 3o days .. hope the hepled . mm
Testimonial: "Thanks for the confirmation! I have been on vacation and need to get back on to it! "
I am experiencing the exact same scenario. Display gradually faded over several weeks, now there is nothing. Oven still works, ligh comes on inside, buttons beep and purchased right at 5 yrs ago. I have one other issue, wife is wearing me out to fix it. From researching online, it seems that there are 2 different E.C.C. parts (#8301848, #8302319). Any advice on which one is required?
We are trying to figure out how to remove the clock. Husband who is usually very handy, can't figure it out! Sooo we are still w/o oven. I am trying to research how to remove it. Our oven did go completely dead! Someone said it was just a matter of time! I found a site that will fix the board electronically and guarantees their work for 2 yrs but we have to figure out how to remove it and reinstall it! Still researching! Pretty bad that WP does not make a better product now. We went with them because my last elec oven in previous home was still working at 22 yrs old! I will not buy WP again! Good Luck with yours!
We did have fixyourboard to fix the electronics in that board. They sent emails on how to remove it with directions to take several pictures and draw diagrams before removing any of the wires. Thank goodness for this because I don't think we could have gotten it back in otherwise. We took detailed digital pictures and our notes/diagrams were helpful too. Getting it out, we sent several emails back and forth to accomplish this. Took several days. We are pleased with the results but it is not for the faint at heart! We had it back in one time and did not work but we had not "seated" the ribbon correctly. Be sure you email them about how to remove this because we were pulling hard at the base and that is not where you need to pull! You could ruin it doing this, we were fortunate. Also, keep track of all the screws, I taped them on a letter size paper with clear tape and labeled them. Nice to have our oven back! I don't use microwaves. This is a great website to find information!
