TO ALL VN1500 OWNERS....This once happen to me,
I went to the garage to start the bike "Nothing ""The first thing is the lights are bright but no turning over,Next you think the solenoid is kaput but the answer was very simple and the fix takes 30 seconds..
Do not take the bike to bits looking for other problems and look at the clutch leaver and you will see some wires going into a plastic shroud going into the switch in the clutch leaver, Make sure this has not popped out if its connection as it some times may do after a few years due to constant turning on the handlebars,
When this is not connected you will have a bike that will not fire up but comes alive and you will hear a clicking noise but this is from the engine carb area and every function of the bike will work but it will not turn over, Worth looking at and saves sixteen quid for a starter unit you never needed.

Float is stuck on my 1999 kawaski 1500 vulcan nomad how do i get it loose?

You can lightly tap on the side of the bowl to dislodge it. If this doesn't work, you need to remove the bowl. (Or the carb needs to be removed to get at the bowl.)

1999 VULCAN 1500 turn signals will not work. They turn on just don't blink to turn.

It is either a bad ground but more likely the winker relay is demanding too much juice to click the switch/ flash.

Topping off antifreeze

Pull the right side cover off which should expose the radiator overflow bottle, just like a car. Towards the front of the bottle are the marks for full and low. Open the top and put in motorcycle specific antifreeze if needed.

My 1999 vn 1500 is steaming out the vent tube on front of motor

Hi there
The steam will be consdensation evapourating off. There is alot of water prodiuced in the comdustion process, and some of this ends up in the crankcase. It is normal to see some particularly if i is cold. If it concerns you, take the bike for a decent run, getting it to full operating temp say 100km,and all of the condensation will be boiled off the oil. If it worries you, change the oil. This will also resolve the issue.
Thansk for using FixYa, I am happy to talk to you more about your problem. A FixYa rating is a great reward for the time taken to answer you problem. Cheers.
