SOURCE: Front air condition does not blow cold. Rear air condition does

sounds like a damper door in the front not working properly, these are actuated by the front temp control, the door is operated by either a manual cable, and electric actuator, or vacuum. I hope this helps you zero in on your problem. Merry Christmas

Why does the air conditioning in my 2003 GMC Yukon blow cold in the front but HOT in the back like the heat is on. It blows good just hot air. I have read that it could be the heater valve not closing...Is...

To check the rear expansion valve, see if the a/c lines are different temperatures. One line to the rear evaporator should be hot and the other cold if it is working.
Try to recailbrate the blend door actuator. Remove the HVAC module fuse. Wait at least 15 seconds. Replace it, turn the key on and wait 40 seconds

01 suburban blow hot air in front and cold in rear

There's a valve between the front and the back that is supposed to open automatically. I have the same problem on my 1994, but in reverse, I get AC in the front, but it just blows hot in the back. I was told that this valve might be stuck... but no one would tell me where it was or how to get to it and no mechanic wanted to fix it for me. Apparently, if you can find it, it's easy to get it unstuck. Good luck.

My Air Condition is only blowing hot air in the front, but cold in the rear. Could anyone give me a start in correcting this problem? Thanks

possible blend door actuator faulty, or a faulty blend door. This door switches from hot to cold vents. On expeditions equipped with rear AC front and rear AC have seperate actuators. Hopefully this helps!!

No back heat in Expedition, Blows cold air but front works fine

Shelly,

Buy used parts at car-part.com. Look on page with * to find the cheapest part. Coud be your temp blend door (#2) may not be moving back and forth. Or, you are not getting hot water to the rear heater core.

You may have to crawl under the truck and feel the heater hoses to see if they are hot. You will find a group of 4 lines, 2 for heater and 2 for a/c. If hot, you know hot water is getting back to the heater core. If not, there may be a hot water vave that's not working. Not sure if EXP. has a water valve for rear.

Let us know what you you find. Good luck.

1994 Previa A/C problem

Look to see that the A/C condensate drains are working. You should see water dripping out from the front & the back whilst the A/C is running. If no water; clean the drain tubes. Also, you need to be running the A/C on the RECIRC mode (the little car with an arrow doing a u-turn inside the car); if not, you are air conditioning outside air, and the unit is icing up from too much humidity. Sort of like running your fridge with the door open...
If neither of those items correct your issue, you may need to replace the A/C thermister; but, that is a very rare failure.
