Great advice, the regulator is fine and I haven't found the wiring issue but reseated the wires uner the console. We'll see if it happens again.

Its the voltage problem.
The wirings are getting in contact with each other and getting short and due to this its causing the problem. Its at present not a major problem but a minute short in the wirings somewhere. But in future can get to major problem if this short makes any of the electrical part stop working.
Get the wires checked in the wire harness to confirm where is the short exactly or which switch ids got loose and making it short.
Remove the single nut that holds the gauge and lights in place to check the wiring. Most likely its a loose wire or a wire has been scraped and is grounding itself. You can  start from  there and work my way down to the fuse.
also check the voltage regulator. It may be letting too many volts to the battery and this is causing the problem sometimes in your bike.To test the regulator is working or faulty try this procedure and confirm:--

Pull the seat and start the bike up. Put a volt meter on the battery, rev the engine up to about 3500 rpm. You should have 14.3-14.7 volts. Any more and the regulator is shot and is overloading the electrical section.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Beings the "Check Engine Light" goes off and on, there SHOULD be one or more error codes stored in the system.
Have you tried pulling any error codes?

1997 isuzu rodeo speedometer/odometer quit working, check engine light on

I suspect that the TCM is playing up but without a proper code reading it is difficult to say. Why do you not take it to autozone as they do scanning for nothing.

Lights or fuse for my speed odemeter guage and heater/air conditioning system

These lights for the dash are controlled by a rheostat instrument control dimmer switch next to the main light switch for the headlights, it is either turned off (have seen this dozens of times) or it is defective. Below is a picture of the switch assembly I speak of. The thumb wheel next to the knob is the dimmer control.

Speedometer and Odometer not working , Break Light and Abs light on

Most likely you have a check engine light on also. And if you have codes pulled it will be 0500, speed sensor. Replace the one on the rear axle and all should be good. Oh and don,t forget to have code cleared.

The speedometer quit working on a 2001 town and country. I replaced the output sensor, but it still doesn't work. The check engine light is not on.... Any suggestions???

Try pressing the trip odometer reset button for 5 seconds. It will flash2.gif an error code. Then the odometer lights will flash, a bunch of error codes2.gif flash. Let it finish.

I found this on fixya before, and it worked for my van. I didn't replace anything.
