Try a new spark plug. if u fowl out a plug some time they will not fire under compression.2 strokes need. fuel, fire and air, very simple is possible crank seal are bad .that doesn't allow the engine to create vacuum in the crank case.thus fuel and air will not make it to combustion chamber.

Am not getting gas to the spark plug on my honda recon 250

I would say it's a carburetor issue.. Open the screws on the bottom of the bowls. See if gas has a continuous flow...If no gas comes out then your float valves are sticking not allowing gas to flow..If the bike hasnt been rode for a while this might be your problem. You will have to take the carburetor apart to get to the sticking parts.

2001 Honda CMX 250 Rebel fuel runs out the bottom of the carb

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Damaged or restricted fuel tank venting system.
2. Loose float bowl screws.
3. Damaged float bowl o-ring.
4. improper fuel level in the float bowl.
5. Worn or dirty inlet valve or seat.
6. Damaged or leaking float assembly.
7. Particle contamination in inlet fitting cavity.
8. Damaged petcock diaphragm allowing fuel to flow through the vacuum line into the combustion chamber.

I have a 2003 honda cr 250r 2 stroke,It will not kickstart, you can bump start it and it starts right up and runs really good.when you try and kick it it leaks gas out of the carborator.

Usually, a leaking carb is because either the float is set too high, or there is some crud stuck between the float's needle valve and it's seat.
Either one will not allow the float/needle valve to shut off the flow of gas when the float bowl get's full.

This should be your carb:

The floats are the 2 large square items on #5 on the illustration.
Item #3 is the float needle valve.
Item #4 is the needle valve's seat.

Ran bike out of gas, when started again it back fired and never ran right again.

Since you ran the last drop of gas out, check the fuel filter and check the float bowl to ensure you did not suck garbage into carb.

I have a 12.5 hp Briggs&Stratton. The float is stcking in the carb and gas is just pouring out. What can I do to fix this ?

The small needle valve which is actuated by the float could be stuck open because of some dirt under it.Remove the carb and pull the float bowl off and you will see what I mean.Sometimes you have to replace the needle valve since they do wear out and cause this problem.

2002 CR 250-has gas on carb, new plug and only starts with a squirt of starting fluid and dies instantly.

Best would be to clean the carburator, it seems the gas doesn't enter the combustion chamber, the jets could be blocked.
Check the valve clearance too, not bad to take the compression test of the cylinder.

try sprayin some wd40 around the bore in carb some times it gets a bit of dust in and that tends to make the slide stick and be sure t sprar out the port were the float needle goes and if that dont work take it out again and check the float pin it could have been bent at some stage ok mate
