If in doubt ... toss it out. No room for questionable tires on a motorcycle ... Please replace your noticably worn tire today.

sounds like either the tire is feathering or the head bearings are bad. if you can rub your hand over the tire tread and theres a lip on one side of the tread then its feathering. f0f1bd53-24b2-4d9d-9a03-76754a418f1a.jpg

Well Dane, I would do the cheapest thing first, change the front tire, to see what happens to the vibe. No sense in going in the drive train just to check to see if you need a inner primary bearing. Look here to see the bearing your friend had to replace, it's in there quite deep so labor would be a bit much. http://www.bikebandit.com/2006-harley-davidson-motorcycle-touring-road-king-flhr/o/m18562

I have front tire cuping. When should I replace the front tire

If you ride the bike hard in the turns, replace it now. If you can feel the cupping while riding you should replace it. If the cupping is mild and you use it as a basic commuter, you'll be fine for a while.

Excessive tire wear, 29000 miles. Tires are cuping out and roaring. Tire dealer (Goodyear) said it was alignment. The truck always drove perfect.but I had it aligned anyway and noise is unbearable! 2008...

I am not sure I can help you much, I have bought, sold, used and abused tires all my life so I will try to help... First if you bought big aggressive tires that look cool, don't expect them not to make noise. Second, if you have ever run them underinflated and the cupping and adverse wear has started the only thing that may help reduce but not eliminate noise it is tire rotation.... Third aggressive tread is always noisy... And gets noisier with age. You have already aligned the truck, that is a step in the right direction. Keep tires properly inflated and rotate them often to square tread back up. Once cupping is minimised noise should go down. Just so you know I have learned about tire through a lot of personal experience. Don't by an aggressive tread if 98% of the time you or on the highway for the once or twice you may go off road... It's not worth it...
