Your 1st valve adjusment should be done at 1000 miles then again at 10-15k . Change oil every 2 to 3 thousand miles. I recommend Castrol Syntec motorcycle oil. change your tires when they wear out and check infalation once a month. Not so tough now is it ?....Good Luck to you friend...Tim

Try looking at all your fuel lines first, Then take the plug/plugs out and check them thoroughly for cracks. If you know how to use a multimeter check the resistance between the body and head of the plug/plugs. replace the leads to the plug and earth the plug to the chassis and roll it in 3rd gear and check for a spark. Remember not to the plug at all whilst turning the engine over in any way. This is extremely dangerous but will tell you whether the issue is in the engine or it is an ignition problem. check all your ignition cables for continuity or breaks in other words. Try pulling the plug/plugs out and putting a little fuel on them then

do you have a exhaust on if so do have a fuel mang. system on it? if your running a exhaust w/out one your killing your motor becuase it is running lean. what color are your plugs?? do you have strong spark. how many miles are on your bike and when was your last valve adj. ? i think that your motor is a shin under bucket, you need to remove the cam to adjust the shim. is the fuel pump working there is a place to start good luck

SOURCE: water in the engine
I had some scum building up in my site glass, I thought it was water, turned out to be fine mist. Take a drop of oil and put it on something hot, water will sizzle, and oil will just smoke. If you are not sure, I would dump the oil and let it settle, if there is water in it, it will be in a puddle at the bottom. Then you know something is wrong. If not, then you just mark the mileage for your next oil change. Hope this helps.
