Dear Support Manager, I have a 1972 triumph

First check the valve clearances. Check/adjust these when the engine is cold - .004' inlet and .006' for exhaust, don't be too fussy any clearance is better than no clearance! Next you should check compression for both cylinders, they should be within 10% of each other. Assuming you have the original points set-up these too can 'adjust' out of tolerance when they get warm. Keep in mind the bike is 41 years old and may need more frequent tlc, best o luck.

Need piston clearance value on a rebore for a 1964 Honda c105 and can push rods be straightened? Frame# c105-0040778 what year?

Piston clearance is .002. The push rods can be straightened, be careful not to crush them. It's also not critical that they are perfectly straight. Not sure about the year, Honda actually didn't create "model years" until 1972. They used a letter and # designation (for example, 68-71 CB 750's are K1) until the changed something about the bike.Good luck!

I have a 1972 honda cb350tow cyl. it has no ignition switch or rectifire iwant to restore the bike but i need to know if i can start this bike with out these parts to see if it will run

The engine can be started so long as you run a hot wire to the coils, have a good battery and the kill switch is off. Bear in mind that; the points must make and break contact properly, the condenser is good, The CV carbs are operational, the spark plugs are serviceable, good gas is filling the carbs, the piston and valves are not frozen, the rings and valves are sealing well enough to provide at least 120psi compression, and the coils are good > you are getting spark. I see this type of "garage find" motorcycle frequently. For the most part, the bike is not wort fixing. Getting parts is spotty at best and the time and cost of parts adds up to more than the bike is worth. If you elect to do repairs, the site below has some parts on hand. Please rate my answer. I have a 1972 Honda xl250. It sat outside for 10 years before I got it. Alls it needed was a carb and it cranked after the 4th or 5th kick. About a week later it quit running. I figured out that it was'nt...

You are probably dealing with dirty, burnt,or shorting points. Try replacing the points located at the end of the crankshaft under the cover held on by two screws. You may have to install and reinstall the points several times before you can get the new points to work. Chances are the points in the machine are almost 40 years old. Also , Honda ignition systems run off the battery. In most Honda models if you do not have a good, charged battery , you will not get spark.

How do i set the valve clearances and points on my 1971 honda cb250?

I would consult and owners manual for procedure and correct gap setting..after finding the correct gaps, you would need to pull the valve cover , position the timing mark as described in owners manual then losen and adjust valves.
