If you don't wish to go as far as baffle removal, try this: Drill our the rivets that hold the plate to the end of pipes, and remove. Now drill the hole that remains out to about 1/2 inch- you may want to add a 4th hole. For looks, you may also want to saw off the last 1 1/2- 2 inches of the baffle itself, to make it flush with the opening. You can touch up with some inexpensive black spray paint. I did this to my wife's '97 VN 800 Classic, and she loves the sound and the look.

Aftermarket exhaust systems are available which will have more flow through and are louder.

However, I always love the sound of a stock exhaust.

SOURCE: Fluid changeing.

hello should be small cover on gear shift side of case with 3-4 screws in it , oil filter is behind cover, not many fluids to change on this bike unless it is automatic, also there is big screw in bottom of motor to drain oil.

This may be a situation that results from normal wear on that particular engine that produces the noise. ( getting louder every very well maybe "normal"..)..You can try going to a heavier grade oil, sometimes a 15w-40 will quieten it down...good luck..

what im getting at so suttly is take it to the local engine builder
explain what you want to get out of the car and how wild you want it to be
a good engine guy can tear down your block do a 5 angle valve job spin the cylinders 60 - 80 thousand over size the pistons turn the crank and set you up for a full allchol motor if you want
depending on what you want it can be cheeper to rebuild and upgrade then change the motor out
hell a top end will cots arround 800-1500 depending who assembles the motor when done
remember if it's a dodge it beter sound mean

Too quiet

Drill one hole 1/2" diameter in each muffler. Want more noise, drill another hole. No loss of performance.
  • Do you really want to drill into a $600 set of mufflers?
  • Will the trade-in value be less?
  • Will it sell faster if it is noisey?
  • Am I promoting rusting the mufflers?
Just food for thought my friend. . .
