It sounds like your clutch fluid might need replacing or the clutch needs bleeding off, :)

Does the clutch lever feel normal, not spongey, or any amount of play?
My only suggestions are, first check your engine oil level, as the clutch runs in oil. The other thing to try is, prime, or pump the clutch lever a few times before putting it into gear. Hold the lever in for a few seconds before.
Sometimes the clutch plates become a little sticky form the bike sitting around.

Clutch plates may have worn out OR If hydrolic clutch then it may need re-bleeding or if cable- May need replacing or adjusting
Check them few things you will most likely find its the clutch plates need replacing.

My zx7r, ive got no Ignition or Neutral light, I have replaced the ignitor unit, the clutch switch, the battery, the side stand switch, the junction box, the fuel pump and still no ignition? I took off my...

Hi, Anonymous the ignition circuit cut-off system comprising of the side stand switch, clutch switch and neutral switch has the following functions:
a. It prevents starting when the transmission is in gear and the side stand is up, but the clutch lever is not pulled.
b. It prevents starting when the transmission is in gear and the clutch lever is pulled, but the side stand is still down.
c. It cuts the running engine when the transmission is in gear and the side stand is moved down.
Periodically check the operation of the ignition circuit cut-off system according to the following tests.
With the engine turned off:
1. Move the side stand down.
2. Make sure that the engine stop switch is set to "RUN"
3. Turn the key to "ON".
4. Shift the transmission into the neutral position.
5. Push the start switch if the engine does not start the neutral switch may be faulty.
With the engine still running:
6. Move the side stand up.
7. Keep the clutch lever pulled.
8. Shift the transmission into gear.
9. Move the side stand down if the engine does not stall you may have a faulty side stand switch.
After the engine has stalled:
10. Move the side stand up.
11. Keep the clutch lever pulled.
12. Push the start switch if the engine does not start you may have a faulty clutch switch.
This check is most reliable if performed with a warmed-up engine.

Zx7r faults

it could be the starter motor is jammed put it into gear and see if the motor turns over just to make sure the motor turns freely if it does then take out of gear and just try to put power straight to the starter positive side and see if you have movement,as well as doing this straight to the starter soliniod and see if that turns it over then it gives you a bit more of an idea could even be a snapped wire internaly, and if all else fails just disconnect all of your switches like side stand and clutch as the replacemant might be the problem if not it might be the dealer with his test gear cheers i hope this helps

CHASE YOUR POWER FROM THE BATTERY TO THE SOLENOID AND THE STARTER, IS IT IN NEUTRAL , MOVE THE BIKE BACK AND FORTH, MOVE EASILY CHECK THE NUETRAL SWITCH ON THE ENGINE IS IT GROUNDED.

How does a 2002 kawasaki ninja 250r act if the clutch isnt adjust

if there is no free play when pulling the lever in, the bike will most likely take off from first gear, but when you throttle it, the clutch will most likely slip. if the lever is to loose, lots of free play, you may have a hard time getting it in gear. approx 1/4 inch free play with the lever and it will work normal... unless its ready for a new clutch. hope this helps...
