Ring end gap, the space between the ring ends when its in the cylinder. Get a good manual if you are doing the work yourself, as you will need specifications. Any scratches on the piston or cylinder wall also is bad news. Damage on the exhaust side is usually due to excessive heat, and on the intake is from dirt. (Air filter)

My 2015 suzuki rmz250 has really weak spark and won't start by kicking, only pull starting it will light it off.

Hi, Parker there is no such thing as a "WEAK SPARK" even though dozens of riders will swear that's what they have and are dying to show you, the bottom line is either you have spark or don't have spark there is nothing in between.
You won't see a dirtbike spark really well, and people only look at it when they have a problem. It is designed to fire under extreme pressure (13:1 compression) and is very robust, but it is not a 1mm bright blue line jumping across a spark plug. It can be white and very hard to see. If you are confident you have weak or no spark prove it by holding the plug in your hand and stark kicking you will be in for a "SHOCKING" surprise!!!!!
60% of these bikes have a flooding issue and/or a fouled plug. 30% need valves adjusted and most of the remaining 10% are something simple in the electrics like a broken kill switch, bad earth on the battery or dead battery, wiring at the steering head damaged or blown fuse.

I put the wrong type of spark plugs into a eclipse and the wrong type of gas into the car and rebbed it up it shut down and does not crank anymore. It's a 1998 turbo misutibsi eclipse

What was the difference in the spark plug, long reach, or hotter?

What was the 'wrong gas', not nitro-methane or methanol I hope?

You can try removing the spark plugs and try turning the engine by hand. If manual, put car in second gear and push backwards. If the engine turns, check for compression. If automatic, put a socket on the crankshaft pulley and turn it.

2001 rm 250 boggs and dies when it warms up

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Faulty ignition coil.
2. Faulty spark plug cables.
3. Faulty temperature sensor.
4. HISS light not going off.
5. Faulty starter motor.
6. Valves adjusted too tight.
7. Spark plug gap too wide.
8. Fuel has vapor lock.

My 05 rm-z 450 won't build compression. What Is my

Check the valve clearances first.Check the spark plug to be tightened to the specific torque. If still no compression, you need to disassemble the engine and check the valve seat's, cylinder head's gasket and the piston rings to be everything within specifications limits.

My tomos revival ran fine then started losing power and droped in speed whay do I look for, plug is fine carb clean, air cleaner clean bike has 1200 senior miles

Well i always do the easier method to find out the problem.
hers a few things to do to determine whats wrong.
1st pull spark plug and do compression test, a blown head gasket will lose compression.
if the gasket is blown then the compression test will read a low psi and drop suddenly
2nd worn piston rings will lose compression, the compression test will read a very low psi below 100 psi and may leak right down depending on how worn the rings are.

that would make you lose power.
have it tested to see which it is.

either way, a lose of power in the motor is caused by lose of compression in the motor.
you can do the test your self, you can buy a compression tester pretty cheap, just make sure you don't cross thread the connectors.
have a good weekend

I have lot's of spark on my 83 rm 125. I fired it up after sitting for a long time and it kicked right over. I let it run for a few minutes and then shut it off. now it won't fire up again.! Lot's of spark...

Could be low compression (poor piston rings) or plugged air filter.
If it looks like oil on the plug, not fuel, you could have a crank seal issue, as the right side one will **** in transmission oil if it leaks.

Hi ive got a 2003 rm 250 ive just changed the crank shaft seal and the bike is still smoking but not as bad cud i have oil in my packing in my back box of my exhaust or have i another problem? And the bike...

I would suggest doing a compression check and checking the results against your manual (should be at least 165PSI or so. Low compression will make the bike run rich which would make it smoke excessively. It would also make it hard to start and run poorly with low power. New rings could do wonders.

I am wondering if I need a throat plate to sew. Everytime I start sewing, it gets clogged up and makes buzzing noises. I cut the tight threads, start again, and then it happens all over again. So, Is there...

Yes, you need the throat plate, Somehow you are not threading it right. Do this, change your needle, flat side facing away from you, totally rethread, with the presser foot up, pull the threads, it should move smoothly, now put the presser foot down, the thead should barely move when pulled. This normally will seat the thread in the tension discs. I don't know what else to try without being able to see the machine.

My andis agc2 clippers are turning on and off depending on whether i have them right side up or upside down - i have opened them up & found that when i mess with the black & white encased wires...

You may need to clip off more wire--try to pull on the copper wires one at a time. If one is broken back inside the wire insulation, that wire will pull out of the insulation fairly easily. Cut both back and re-strip the insulation as before. The silver ends are just rosin-core solder applied to the wire strands to prevent fraying when tightening the screws. Light appliance cords sometimes have fabric strands woven in with the copper to increase flexibility of the cord. If that is the case here, then the bare wire ends should be wrapped with a copper strand and then soldered to hold everything together. Try to find a friend that has a soldering gun or a regular stick soldering iron if you don't have such. Hope this helps!
