The coil failed, go to bikebandit.com and look up the parts. The diagrams will show the location also.

How many spark plugs are there to change on my 2005 Honda VTX shadow ?

The stock two cylinder 583ccm engine on your VTX uses two spark plugs per cylinder for a total of FOUR. NGK #DPR6E is the stock plug. They should run about $11 a set.

best wishes!

1st thing you need to do is see if the spark plugs have spark.Remove a spark plug, put the plug wire back on the plug, ground the spark plug to the engine ( lay on a bolt) turn bike on push start button check plug for spark. If it has spark then you have a fuel problem.Hope this help let me know what you find

2007 vtx 1300 R idles good ,starts good - but back fire when accel

a back fire is to much fuel going down the exhaust and igniting, if you changed the exhaust pipes or allterd the air cleaner you will need to get it set up on a dyno . the air flow meter could allso be playing up a dealer repair really.

I have a 2005 Honda VTX 1300 that will not start. It motor turns but won't fire. The lights work and are bright. The kill switch is off and there is gas in the tank. What could it be?

Firstly, have you checked for spark?? Is there fuel to the carb?? Is the vacuum line to the fuel valve OK?? If the motor turns, then your kill switch is OK. Check the "basics" first then let us know what your results are and we can move forward
