SOURCE: Battery termanals coming lose
this time there was alot of smoke coming from under the seat. I found the Start Mod had a melt down. Now I'm still waiting for part to come. Has anybody had a similar issue? The bike is an'06 TT with only 710 miles. I bought it used with 660 mile on it.Let me start by saying that someone is not getting the the battery terminals tight to begin with. These are just bolts not Ridley bolts and should be tightened as you would tighten any bolt. If you find that bolts are continually getting lose there is a product called Loc-tite that can be applied to the threads to prevent loosening. The smoke is a different matter. Generally when this happens we find aftermarket lighting or changes in the original wiring. You now need to see a mechanic,

Faulty Stator( alternator). When the bike is running, at that time its continuously charged by the stator.
----------- In your case the stator is faulty, so its not charging the battery to make your bike run.Get the stator and regulator/ rectifier checked by the local garage, and replace the faulty one.------- Any of the one is fauilty, that is confirm, but getting it checked should help.So you can replace as per that. ----------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
