Gearbox oil

Hi. If this is a auto or DSG then there is no need to top up if there is no leak. A manual, there is a 17mm allen cap plug in the front of the gearbox.

Verso gearbox leaking oil

There is a seal in the gearbox and this has been damaged so oil is leaking past it out of the gearbox. You will have to carefully replace this seal, to do this you need to take the gearbox out of the car, put it on a bench and carefully remove the old seal and press in a new one.

How check oil in gearbox of a 1999 hilux

if it is a manual gearbox there should be a plug on the side of the gearbox about halfway up unscrew it & by putting your finger in & feeling down you should be able to feel the oil, if not you need to add oil, this plug is also the oil level plug, you add oil until it runs out of the hole,if it an automatic transmission you should find a dipstick similar to the engine dipstick & you add oil through that tube......hope this helps......cheers

Hi the roadwin is a fourstroke engine and the gearbox is 1unit, so the engine oil lubricates the gearbox also, ( no need for gearbox oil)

Why does my van kick when i put it in reverse?

Hi, if you have a manual gearbox then the problem could be any of the following:
1. gearbox oil could be low causing the gears to bite to hard.
2. clutch could be low and need replacing.
3. gearbox or engine mounts could be worn causing the engine or box to **** when put under pressure.
4. ball joints could need replacing such as bottom ball joint and anti roll bar bushes.

you can check the oil by finding the oil level bolt on gearbox remove bolt and if oil comes out its ok if not it needs topping up.

you can check engine/gearbox mounts by getting a good hold of the top of engine and give it a hard pull and push their should be only slight play any more and some mounts may be worn.

ball joints you can check by jacking the van off the floor then use pry bar to put bushes under pressure and check for play, their should be only slight play any more and the bush will need replacing.

Now if you have auto box then the chances are the fluid is bad and needs replacing or worse case it could be that the torque converter is on its way out.

let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Suzuki bandit sticky gearbox

Stop riding the bike until you change the gearbox oil and oil filter. Yes, the oil is probably the problem. I am somewhat surprised that the pistons haven't seized yet. On the bottom or lower side of the gear box there will be an oil drain plug. Drain the oil and put in new oil. The oil fill hole is probably on the right side cover near the rear of the casing. The plug will probably have a dip stick to measure the oil level. Put in 10w40 motor oil. Ride the bike for a few hours then drain the oil to help flush out the dirt and grit built up in the gearbox. Put in fresh oil and a new oil filter if the bike has a filter.

Your bike is 18 years old and parts can be difficult to find. Your bike probably has an oil filter. If so, it desperately needs a new one. Google " vintage suzuki motorcycle parts " . I can not find a free service manual online. You may be able to buy one at www.repairmanuals.com

Oil level for Suzuki TS 185 (1989)

Drain the oil and put 750ml back into the gearbox. If your bike doesn't have a dipstick and you have good, clean oil in it, drain it into a plastic bowl then put it right back into the engine but measure it before you pour it back in. When you get 750ml in the box then look at the level in the box. That is the level to maintain.

Pleas rate this solution. Thanks!
