1988 s10 fuses have no tail lights

Had a 1988 s10 with the opposite problem. Had taillights but no headlights. Turns out that only part of the headlight switch had gone out. It allowed the tail lights and all other lights to work but not the headlights. replacing the headlight switch fixed the problem. Perhaps the switch on yours has went out just on the opposite side that mine did. That switch operates both head and tail lights. Check for power at the tail lights. If there is no power there, check that all the fuses are good. Replace any you find that are blown. If you still have no power, replace the headlight switch. If there is power at the tail lights, clean or replace the bulb sockets.

Dashboard lights are out, switch was not turned off - could it be as simple as a fuse?

Yes it could be a fuse. If you have not noticed, I bet your tail lights are not working either. On most vehicles as a safety device, the tail lights and dash lights are on the same circuit. So it could be a simple problem with the tail lights, such as both bulbs are out. The 1988 is getting a little old but still a good car. They started putting tail lights on the dash circuit way back before the 1950's. Good luck. Let me know if that does not help.

My back tail lights wont go off when i turn the car off

check the switch above the pedal brake, if you step on it there's a small metal coming out and if you release the pedal it will push the metal inside and that will turn the brake lights off, if the switch is broken you can easily replace it, just ask for your local auto store. hope i help you on this..

1988 toyota pick up has no tail lights or dash lights

The tail light relay is under the plastic panel near the fuse box on the DRIVERS side. Yes I have had this problem. So in desperation I connected a wire from the battery to the lights, my wife continually ripped the wire out so I ran a hot wire to a switch and on to the running lights, turn the switch on and I have tail lights, then I noticed that with the switch off I could turn them on at the light switch. Possibly fumbling around reconnected something. I have tested every relay, fuse, wire for voltage and continuity and had zero results. Then the switch, who knew?
