Usually, if you go up one size on the slow jet and readjust the idle mixture this solves the problem. I think you bike came equipped with a #42 slow jet. Go up to a #45, the next step richer. If you have not drilled and removed the "anti-tamper plug" that covers the idle mixture adjusting screw, do so. Be careful not to damage the screw as they are not available seperately from Harley. This will enrichen the low speed mixture just a bit.

You can also remove the needle from the slide and install a 3 mm flat washer that is about 0.020" thick on the needle to raise it up just a bit to enrichen the midrange just a bit.

Also, check your accelerator pump for proper operation.

Good Luck

600 carb. Why is it idling poorly and popping?

Sounds like it is running far too rich. Verify proper spark, verify that the float bowl is not overflowing (replace the float and/or the needle & seat if necessary), and adjust the idle mixture screw clockwise to make the idle mixture more lean. (Many tutorials on carburetor adjustment on Youtube.)

My atomik trooper kids atv was idoling fine and took off fine but when you let off throttle it crackles and pops then it just died I choked it down and it crunk what do I need to do

Popping when you let off the throttle is a sign of running lean. Could be caused from leak in intake boot, air/fuel screw on carb adjusted incorrectly, wrong pilot jet, dirty carb. When I say lean I mean lean as in too much air or not enough fuel on the low rpm side.

2004 flhycui harley pops when shifting and pops when down shifting

The idle might be a little lean.
If it's a carb (your model year offered both carb OR fuel injection), richen up the idle mixture screw a touch and see if that helps.

If not, check for an air leak at intake manifold, both where the carb attaches to manifold, and where manifold attaches to cylinder head.
An air leak will lean out the mixture.

2004 650 twin popping up threw carb back cylinder exhaust pipe getting red hot

Sounds like a very lean running cylender (not enough fuel)

Carb may be clogged, filter, bad valve, massive vacuume leak.

Motor pop when down shift

Generally popping on deceleration is caused by a lean condition, or a air leak in exhaust manifold or intake manifold or corn boots. Check for intake vacuum leak around the carb flanges and any intake gaskets with a quick shot of carb cleaner while running. A leak will change the engine rpm. Listn carefully for exhaust manifold leaks and 11_12_2013_4_27_36_am.png

17.5 hp briggs stratton acts like stuck value

It may as simple as bad fuel [Ethanol ] plugging the pilot circuit in the carb. the pop back may just be from it going lean as it runs out of fuel.

My 1400 intruder pops and back fires

I think maddogcycle is right. One cylinder is running rich and the other running lean. It seems as though they have not been balanced properly and the mixture not accurately adjusted. The settings on these carburettors are critical and must be adjusted with the proper gauges. I'd advise you to have the carbs cleaned and adjusted and tuned to the engine for balance of inducted air flow and fuel/air ratio (mixture)

Lean pop or only runs on back cylinder and front back fires

Exhaust 'pops' is generally caused by unburnt fuel igniting in the exhaust, air leaks can cause this too.
When you do any carb work its always best practice to check the carb balance and idle mixture settings.
