How old is it? You can only expect about 2 years out of a battery. If it is not charging, it is shot. Do you jump it every time you start it? How about putting the voltmeter on it while it is running to see if it is charging? Should read in the 13 volt bracket. and it should read at least 12.5 when it is off. If it doesn't hold a charge, you need a new one. You are lucky, they have them at walmart. Mine is a special toy car battery, about half the size of a real one. And it never seems to have enough juice, but it is still going. Hope this helps.

What shop did you take it to ? The charging system on your vehicle is computer controlled and so is the volts indicator gauge. Have you tried the buick dealer ?

05 katana 600f no spark!

sounds as if you have an issue with the charging system, try using a volt meter to determine if the bike is charging. To do so you will need to access the battery under the seat, with the bike running hook up the volt meter to the battery terminals, at idle you should have around 11volts when reving you should have around 13volts. If not you may have a bad stator or other electrical issues. good luck

What to do

If the battery no longer holds a charge, then it sounds like you need to get a new battery, or at least have your current battery checked by a Battery Shop. Stator could be a problem, in which case you should be able to get a new aftermarket one for your bike. Just as a thought though, did you check your fuel level when it died on you? it's happened to me before, where I'm looking all over for what's wrong, thinking the bike has a terminal problem, when it just turns out that it was out of gas.

Bad battery

though if it was a problem it would have blown the 10amp fuse????Don't rely on on whether the bike will start at a gas station to determine if the charging system is working. Get the multimeter out and do a proper test. Should be getting about 14.5 volts @ around 3K RPM. It's too easy of a test to to just skip. If it is charging then start looking for something else. Was the new battery properly charged to begin with? Loose battery connection? I suppose the GPS could be too much but you said that it was dying last november so I would suspect something else. P.S. you need a properly charged battery to get an accurate reading for the charging test. ,,,
