If your oil pump is bad you you will damage your engine. start with the cheapest option first. First make sure you have oil in the bike. Popping wheelies can cause oil starvation depending on where the oil pick up is in the sump of the motor. Replace your oil pressure sender 9 times out of 10 this will solve an oil light problem.

25 hp suzuki oil injection outboard oil light comes on and power drops off after only a few hundred feet.Added oil to gas tank and motor smokes a lot but light stil comes on

There is a flow sensor between your oil tank and the oil pump.
Suzuki tells it's not serviceable, but it does.
Drain and remove your oil tank, clean it out from all possible dirt.
remove the feed hose to the oil pump with the sensor in the middle.
Set a mark for repositionning on the sensor elements. Open the sensor ( 4 screws ).
Be carefull, some are small parts!
Clean the filter/strainer!
Rince the feed hoses and the connections.
Reassemble the sensor WITH the strainer.
Remount oil tank and fill it.
Open the bleedscrew near the top of the oil pump. And wait till all air is poured out the pump.
Enjoy the ride ! ;-)

oil temp or oil pressure light? as if its oil temp id be looking for a obvious covering of something on the oil cooler , and then a possible fault in the switch for this if all else was ok if its oil pressure , was the proper oil type used and no additives , ive seen many folks use a different oil or additives in there bikes and then have oil pressure problems , the proper viscosity is very important to such a small circ system

My service light went on my tractor just after 25 hours of use.I put some oil in it. now I have a big cloud of grey smoke coming out of exhaust in front engine.

Your check engine/service light possibly came on to indicate a oil change due interval @ 25 hours.
Double check your engine oil level; it may be too full. If the oil level is over the full mark, drain off some of the oil in the engine so the crankcase oil level is between the add & full marks on the oil level dipstick. The grey smoke you're seeing is likely oil being burned off.
On a side note, I am assuming you replaced the engine oil with the same weight/viscosity oil that was previously in the engine or recommended by the manufacturer in your owner's manual.

Hi David,
There is a few possibilities here.
The first, and probably least likely, is that your oil pump is having problems. These are generally fully mechanical though, and are unlikely to cause issue.
Another is a blockage in the oil system. but if you change your filters regularly, this shouldn't be an issue either.
It could be your oil pressure sensor, refer to your manual as to where this is located. Check the wiring first, sometimes it can be as simple as a loose wire. Otherwise replacing the sensor might solve the issue.
The next possibility is a little more complex. It's entirely possible you may have used the wrong oil viscosity in your engine. Using too thin an oil to what is specified will lower your oil pressure, but increase flow. Oil pressure is important though. Too little and the pump may not be pushing it through where it needs to go as well as it should.
It's possible that such thin oil and low pressure may be causing the oil pressure sensor to show no pressure and illuminate the globe on the dash?
Check your users manual to see what oil viscosity is recommended and if necessary change it to the correct oil.
Hopefully this gives you a few ideas on how to solve your problem?
Cheers.

It is possible that these items have worked loose over time and everytime you hit a bump or rough patch they 'flutter'. If you have a manual check them out and see if they are within tolerance. Also check the connections for dirt and grime, and check the wiring to make sure it hasn't cracked, rubbed through or worked loose on the connections.

If your oil pressure light is coming, you probably have low oil pressure caused by worn engine parts. Usually low oil pressure is observed when you are idling since the pump is pumping slowly. When you raise RPM's, the pump speeds up and pressure increases. Take the bike to someone who can diagnose it properly, but it sounds like it is time for some repairs.

my oil light also comes on after riding my bike, I have filled up the oil tank with castrol 2t oil but the light still comes up. The previous owner never had a problem with it.I washed the bike literally everywhere as it wasn't looked after and i think it is electrical problem as some some water may of got the electrical circuits. Have you washed yours or has it randomly just come on?
