Without being able to hear the noise, a "best guess" is as good as I can do. I used to tell people that I could not fix their bikes over the phone but look at what I'm doing now. LOL
If the noise is coming from the right side of the engine, it could be cam bearings or oil pump noise. If it's coming from the left side, check your pirmary chain tension. 5/8 to 7/8 inch up and down on a COLD engine.
Cam bearings usually make a sound like the alternator on a car makes. I do know that Harley had problems with cam bearings in the first couple of years of production of the Twin Cam engine. Take it to your local dealer, they increased the mileage on the warranty on this particular part and yours may be covered.
