Battery door replacement how to? The battery door on my Nikon Coolpix L5 doesn't stay closed anymore because a little piece broke off when I dropped the camera. I can get a new battery door cover but how do I uninstall the old one and install the new one? It looks like it wouldn't be hard but I am afraid to force anything. Thanks for your help.

My Coolpix S6100 battery latch broke. Can I get a replacement?

As of Sept 2 2016 there are several for sale on eBay, for about 7 dollars to about 12 dollars.
Search for "battery door", not battery latch.

I can't keep the battery door cover closed on my Nikon coolpix digital camera L.22

I see this message at least 3 times, so it must be important.
Looks like a mechanical problem. But not having the camera in my own hands I have to do some educated guesses.
Could be something broke off. Could be a small chip of plastic or a very small piece of metal. Difficult to repair it yourself. But you also could look if there is something in the battery compartment that should not be there. Could be just a little bit of debris, that is lifting the battery, (not if the battery is behind the lock) or debris in the door, so you can't close the battery compartment complete, and it can't be locked.
If you can't find anything and it looks as if the battery compartment closes correct, and still you only can't lock the door, please visit your dealer or the Nikon service centre closest to you.

Camera will not turn on at all, no light no noises. But it worked last night.

Hi,

Check whether your batteries are actually making contact with the battery posts, and that these posts are clean. If not, bend the posts up/down a little, and maybe clean them with a little rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip.The next thing to try is examine both the battery and flash card door. There's usually a little switch on both doors (note some SD card doors do not have this switch) that activates when the doors are closed. If they don't, the camera won't start to prevent damage to the flash card or camera startup sequence. For most cameras its usually a little piece of plastic on the door that pushes in on a pin switch when the door is closed. Closely examine both doors to try to identify these switches. A lot of times that little plastic nib wears down or breaks off, but can easily be jury rigged with a small glued-on replacement.
If you've tried all of the above and still no luck, the problem is then likely to be internal to the camera. One example would be that if your camera uses Compact Flash, check to make sure all pins are present and aligned in the card slot (if bent, simply unbend/straighten them with a skinny "jewelers" screwdriver, then insert the flash card for final realignment).

Thank you!

I havve a nikon S51 the battery latch is broken

they can repair/replace according to the damage and how it broke off. if the door broke into pieces it will be replaced. Replacing is done 99% of the times since it offers the pressure the battery needs to continue to charge well.

"Lens Error" message in Nikon Coolpix L5

There are a few different things it could be though most likely the lens itself is out of alignment. There are methods you can try to "click" it back into place. First off how long have you owned the camera?
Thanks,

Battery door and latch broken

Have used a 5-cent nylon cable tie for years on our CoolPix 990 and it never has failed, and still allows for battery changes. Looks a little funny to some, but is very functional. Don't know if your camera's design is similar enough for this to work, but it may worth trying.
