I have a Hilti TE17 (some 40 years old), limited use - needs an oil change. Spoke to a Hilti guy today, they no longer service them. He told me how to change the oil, but could not tell me what type of oil or how much to use. Can anyone help me with this information? Thanks & Regards, Steve.

You can use an AW46 Hydraulic oil. Do not put more than 35cc of oil in tool if you just poured out the old oil. You can put 50cc if you washed the housing out. Too much oil takes out the cushing of air between pistons. You will break the connecting rod or strip the gears. If you take the cap off of the top of the gear housing, older ones will be black. Newer ones had a red cap indicating that there was a clutch and see and it still looks wet with oil then I would not mess with it.

Hello, can you tell me how the black top cap comes off? Is it screwed? I have the same issue.

Hilti TE 17. How to change the oil please?

There is a one minute video, but it is a 30 minute videos speeded up! The fill cap takes a large Allen key. It is not the cap under the bottom of the gearbox, it is situated in the top of the drill.

Why did my hilti te 805 just stoped working when drilling can anyone help

A real Hilti brand means it has got the operating hours on it.

Only service a complete kit of components , this machines are have most liquid oil lubrication (most of the times a very expensive) Turmopol oil and special poor tolerance bearings HILTI and DUSS are high quality machines , Duss machines i prefer some higher then Hilti because of the long last service for more then 40 years old machines they have all te parts for them , but not cheap Unfortunately.

If a hammer stopped working like Dewalt all the parts are simple to get. most of the times a broken powercable or a brush that have become in protected state autostop , Dewalt hammer in the States is not the QS quality of Europe i know . but quality like the old ELU machines instead of black and Decker ,
Nice machines and are not fast leak , but it could also after a long period.

The drill is leaking oil

As my knowledge drills not use oil just grease in the bearings. But if you need to service and the drill is not too old and the repair is not cost too much you can find parts at Hilti Online or by your self using the Hilti Manuals.

Ball joints problems in jeep compass 2007,how much cost?

I have spend $6700 over the last year and a half on this problem and am starting all over again. Spoke to other owner with same problems they have replace all for the the third time. My service guy at dealer told me that this is common with the Compass and should get rid of it. Cash grab!! If you must keep the Jeep take it of a speciality shop and replace with parts that are not Jeep.

Looking for a supplier of the speed control part

The best bet is to go on to ebay and buy a used one or onto craigs list. Unfortunately when these tools get a few years old, for Sears [craftsman] for example it is 10 years. Joe

I have a Hilti TE 905 AVR the service light came on and it stopped working. Is there a troubleshooting guide to fix and reset this. Also, schematics can be found at:...

If you have the old type TE905, which is the one with the square type handle at the back, the service light will come on for 2 reasons. Either there is a tight bearing which will increase the amount of current used to work the machine. Or more common the carbon brushes need replacing. To reset the light, simply cure the problem.

If you have the newer type TE905 with the large “D” Type handle at the back. It gets a bit more complicated. The service light will come on for the same reasons as mentioned above, but it will also come on after 200 hours of use. It will continue to work for another 50 hours with the light on, then it will shut down completely. This is to ensure that it gets regular service. Once serviced or repaired, it will require resetting. To do this you with need a Hilti optical interface, a PC, and Hilti ODA Software. This is not available to the general public. If your Hilti is less Than 2 years old, call Hilti. They will pick it up, repair it, and send it back to you in 3 working days FREE OF CHARGE. If it is older than 2 years there will be a charge for the repairs.
I hope this helped you. Please leave feedback
