When you change the wires did it bring back the dead cylinder? If not check the resistance on that injector it should read 11 to 15 ohms, check another injector to see specific ohms they should be close if not exact.

You said compression is good then i would say you may have a bad coil , unless one coil runs all cylinders, but could still be a coil,,next thing i would check would be the injector make sure it gets a pulse if it does then try switching injectors from that cylinder to another cylinder and see if the weak cylinder changes with the injector change, if it does then you have a bad injector,

1998 mazda 2500 cranks but wontr start, has fuel to fuel rail has compression has spark to the 2 cyls that were checked

If you have at least 40# of pressure to the rail, spark, compression, and the engine is in time...that only leaves one thing. Fuel injectors. I believe that the signal to fire the injectors comes form the crank sensor to the ECU

I have a 1988 Yamaha Phazer 500 and it is not running on one cyl. Checked spark and good on both cyl and it has 130# of compression on both cyl

If spark and compression seemed good you may need to check the fuel. I would assume that cylinder has its own carburetor. Make sure it is working by spraying some starting fluid through the intake while the engine is running. If the cylinder starts firing you have a carb issue. The often gum up from storage or poor fuel.

Mazda mx6 just been overhalled will not start is ther a check list

Bummer, well it takes spark at the right time, compression and fuel to have the engine work.....Most likely there is a timing based issue, investigate ignition and valve timing.

NO start

Make sure you are getting gas and spark, they are a few ground wires that come off of injector harness that if they are not grounded will cause injector NOT to pulse re-check wiring and get back to me. Good Luck

Lack of power

You should try doing a tune up change spark plugs, wires, pcv,and fuel filter.it's reasonable to assume that the rings and
valves (inside the engine) have become worn. Worn rings
and valves will cause the engine to have low compression
and low compression = weak power.
You may be curious as to why the engine's lack of power is
most evident when driving up a hill. Well, when a vehicle is
going up a hill, the engine is under more stress than when
driving on a flat road. Therefore, any wear in the rings/valves
will tend to be revealed - in the form of compression - when
the engine is under stress.

you will need to have a mechanic verify that the rings and/or
valves are indeed worn. Incidentally, this generally involves
what's known as a "wet compression test".
If the mechanic tells you he positively confirmed a worn ring
and/or worn valve condition, don't immediately authorize him
to do the work. Why? Because, this type of work is very
expensive and therefore you'll want to get several opinions
before jumping into anything. By the way, even though this
vehicle's high mileage strongly points to the above diagnosis,
it's possible the cause of this problem is something else.
For example, one of the electronic sensors that controls the
engine may have gone bad. hope this help have a nice day.
