Hi there? It sounds like the car is ranning on limp mode. Is the engine managment light on? if so, the air flow meter can cause this simptons. If you disconnect the air flow meter which is located next to the air filter box, it should improve it if it is disconnected, don't worry this will not cause any problems.
If it improves it by disconnecting the air flow meter then you'll need a new air flow meter..
Good luck......
I would use the proper sized tire for the 2001 Jetta of p195/65R15 and not the p205/65R15 as the larger size might rub against the wheel wells.
In general, reputable tire retailers will not go up or down more than one size step on any particular axle and will often recommend the original tire size stamped on the inside of the door, or the original tire size recommended for your year, make, and model vehicle which can change from year to year.
if tires cant be aligned why cant they be what reason did they give you for not being able to align them fix the reason why they cant be aligned are the rims bent or is a part bad when they tried to align tires they should of given you a reason as to why they couldnt align them this is the reason as to your tire wear problem rather it be a bent rim or other things in the rear end of car when they do an alignment they tell you the reason as to why they couldnt align let me no how it goes any tire shop that does alignment will tell you why vehicle cant be aligned
any wheel alignment should be able to set it up for you, I would get a quote , if the struts are in good condition it should not affect the alignment once it is set up .
If the vehicle is running with the standard factory 15 inch (diameter) by 6 inch (wide) wheels, the tire size used with this wheel fitment was 195/65/15.
The sizes on the tires you have fitted now are found on the side wall of each tire.
not really. The TDI's have a drop in filter, and you will only be loosening the cover that the filter rests in. It should be hand tightened from the dealership, so a simple oil filter wrench will work. rubber gloves can sometimes disengage it also.
there should be a label just inside the door jam on the drivers side or the glove box showing you the maximum size tires as well as correct inflation
if it's not there http://www.tirerack.com/index_w.jsp
My 2002 Jetta TDI will not always go into reverse. When this happens I put it in 1st then back to reverse and many times it goes right in reverse. It happens whether it is cold or warmed.
