Code 174 is for the fuel system on bank two being too lean. Bank two is the side with cylinder two on a V6 engine.
The problem is often times a faulty injector or vac leak. Sometimes the problem is the O2 sensor. A mechanic would check all of the O2 sensors with a scanner to verify the cause.

Sounds like the stator coil. If your bike has headlights and fancy stuff like that, it has 2 different stator coils behind your magneto or some call it the rotor. sounds like the one that works your lights isnt working right. You can check it with a simple volt merer but you need to know how many omes it should be putting out
Does the VSS have a wire connected to it?? If that wire goes to the VSS, that is probably the cause of your problem. The VSS tells the computer what the engine/vehicle speed is, without that info, the computer doesn't know when to shift the transmission.
