Question about 1996 Suzuki VS 800 Intruder

My 1996 Suzuki Intruder has intermittant ignition lockout

My 1996 Suzuki Intruder will occasionally not start (ignition lock-out) unless I turn the handlebars all the way to the left and then all the way to the right. Is there a fix for this instead of my work-around solution? It isn't the kick-stand or the neutral indicator, as far as I can tell.

You probably have a broken wire in the main harness were it wraps around the frame neck( That is why it is affected by turning the bars.) You will need to isolate the bad wire and solder a new one in it's place to bypass the break.

Can I start my 99 Suzuki Intruder 1500 without a key

The keys aren't particularly high tech and the locks wear. If you can find a key that fits, it may well turn. Or remove the lock and take it to a Suzuki dealer to get a new key. Or bang a small stubby wide blade screwdriver into the lock and turn it with grips. Buy a new one on ebay.

I have a 99 Suzuki Intruder 1500 LC...three times today my ignition fuse has blown. Where do I start looking to fix this issue?

There's a short somewhere, most likely suspect is the wiring loom chaffing against the frame when you turn the handlebars.
Take the fuel tank & seat off, trace along the loom & look for signs of wear & exposed wiring. Tape it up & try locate the loom so it doesn't start chaffing again.

I have a 1996 Suzuki intruder VS 800. When I turn the handlebars to the right the turn signal stop working. When I turn them to the left the turn signals work again. What would cause that?

Sounds like a turn signal wire around the steering head area is broken.
The wire might be broken internally, looking ok from the outside with unbroken insulation covering.
This is a "chasing wires" problem, where a multimeter helps.

I inherited a suzuki burgman 400 scooter(not sure of what year it is) from my father in law. We can't get it started. I turn the key on and there is power but I can't seem to find the right switch...

This may not help but here goes.

The button for starting bikes is usually on the right handlebar under the light switch. I had a Suzuki that wouldn't start unless you pulled the clutch in (Left handlebar, lever in front of grip). Make sure the red kill switch is on too (right handlebar).

Good luck

1996 Suzuki Intruder 1400 hard to start and runs rough in cold weather. Actually does not like the cold weather (florida cold weather). Replaced battery still having problems. When we finally get it...

Check the ignition system and set up the carb/s.
It sounds like the fuel mixture is too weak which could be a blocked tickover jet and/or the ignition system has a problem. If it is using a set of points, change the capacitor and check the points gap. If it is electronic ignition, check the ECU.
Hope that helps.
