The rev counter is electronic on this model so if its not working id check all connections to the clocks for signs of corrosion usually go gungy green if the damps got in spray wd40 into snap connector then pressing the tag down disconnect it a few times to clean the contacts put it back together it will hopefully now work (this will work for most bike electrical problems) also check fuses r/hand panel near seat failing that the cheapest option is that auction site to replace the rev counter with cheap second hand unit.

Kia mentor 2000 rev counter works on and off

The rev counter of course is electronic, most likely the tiny DC motor (called a stepper motor) that moves the counter is defective or the circuit for it is, you need to remove the instrument cluster from the dash and send it out for repair at a approved repair center. Many of these sites can be found by just a google search.

Rev counter not working

If it is not a fuse in the fuse box then check the harness that is connected to the counters. The rev counter has 3 wires on the back. One ground and two others.Check them both against the ground to see if there is voltage.
