Mower will not start by key. I can jump across silinoid and mower will start right up no problem. Why is it not starting by the key?

H Albert:
If it starts when you jump across the solenoid, but not when you jump from the positive to the exciter terminal on the solenoid, then the solenoid needs to be replaced.
If it does not start from the exciter terminal short, then power is not getting from the switch to the exciter. Check wiring and switch functions.

05 dyna starter solenoid clicking, won't start or turn over.

Hi Anonymous, and the usual suspects are:
1.Ignition/Light Key Switch not in IGNITION position.
2.Engine Stop switch in the OFF position.
3.Discharged battery, loose or corroded connections check negative cable at both ends. (solenoid chatters).
4. Bank Angle Sensor tripped and Ignition/Light Key Switch not cycled to Off and then back to on.
5. Starter control circuit, relay or solenoid faulty.
6. Electric starter shaft pinion gear not engaging or over-running clutch slipping.
7. Security alarm not disarming

Starter problem

wiring to the starter; large cable coming from the battery to the
large post on the starter is direct current, hot at all times. there are two small wires that connect to the solenoid, one comes from the ignition.
Look for loose connection especially ground. If you jumper the connection on the solenoid to the large connection on the battery and it starts, I would suspect fault in the ignition circuit...

It started out just clicking when u pushed the starter button an now it dont do nothing ive got a new battery in it can you tell me whats wrong its a 660 grizzly 2004

get some wire that's equal in size or larger gauge than the battery cable (a jump start cable works great) and connect from one side of the solenoid to the other momentarily. The starter should engage. If it doesn't, you have either a dead battery, bad battery cable, or the starter relay is bad. You can also try a jumper from from the battery positive terminal to the starter side of the solenoid. If it engages then the the battery cable from the battery to the solenoid is bad. To test the relay, put 12 volts dc on the trigger side and the relay contacts should close. You'll hear them close with a click.

if you have power to the solenoid on the starter pull in post but nothing happens thenthe brushes need to be replaced in the starter.the brushes let the solenoid go to grounrnd for the lenght of of time it takes to engage the solenoid pull coil and the switch and relay take over during the hold mode of the starter.usually will find the lead from the solenoid to the brushes has rotted off,or brushes are gone.

Slides not working nor the power jack

Did you wire them in circuit? (hot lead to positive on 1st batt, which jumps to the neg on 2nd batt, and neg lead going to neg post on 1st batt, then to positive on 2nd batt) That would be for a 24v system, for a 36v you would continue to the opposite posts again.

91 datona wont start

That relay you are talking about is your starter solenoid.  If your car is a manual, put it in neutral with teh ebrake on.  Turn the key to the on position.  Take a screwdriver and jump the 2 bigger posts.  If your starter engages, then your solenoid is shot.  They are pretty cheap and easy to fix.  Keep the Dodge's alive!!  PLease rate!

When i turn the ignition the engine makes a clicking noise, stater is not connecting.

Clicking from te starter is normally associated with a weak battery. Do you get the clicking sound when you jump start it too? Try that and if you do not hear that clicking sound,.. charge up your existing or get a new battery..It should be note that if your battery is relatively new and drained, you may have a problem with your charging system ... Hope that helps you..
