Question about 2002 Yamaha YZ 426 F
There can be many causes of one being hard to start. All having to do with fuel, compression, or spark.
But, if its just abnormally hard to start and then much easier after it's nice and warm- check your valve clearance. You'e specifically looking for any valve that has no clearance.
If so, this causes compression to leak off, especially bad when the engine is cold. The valves are adjusted by changing shims, so you may need some help. Keep an eye on any valves that had closed up. If they do it again in the near future, you'll need to replace that valve.

#1 the 426 brand new is hard to start right off the showroom floor. Here are some tippers:
Don't start it up and shut it off before it's allowed to get up to operating temp, because this will foul plug almost every time.
#2 If it hasn't been run for a couple of days lay the bike on it's side and allow the gas from carb bowl to run out the overflow hoses and it will fill with fresh gas. for some reason this helps. A local yamaha dealer told me to do this.
#3 If it's hot and you stall it you have flooded it. Pull in decrompressor and kick over hard 5-10 times. Then find top dead center and pull the decompressor in and go past td just a hair and then kickit over like a harley without the decrompressor
